Matt wasn't feeling too good in the morning. At first we thought it might be a hangover from Sunday's festivities, but it turned out to be this bug that was going around his work and the booze weakened him enough for it to take hold. As for me, work was, well, work. i really gotta quit doing these long hours. The boys are starting to get settled in back in Bangalore, so hopefully that will pick up the slack.
Oh, the story from Sunday night. Things were starting to wind down for us and we had a good buzz. OK, Matt had a very good buzz. Richard was on for awhile, so it was pushing 10 o'clock and work in the morning. There weren't a whole lot of guys there. One was this guy from up around Springfield, IL, who lives with his wife (who i think is his meal ticket). He always wears a black cowboy hat and has a heavy tan all year round. He comes down to St Louis, puts the old lady on a plane to her mother's in Florida then gets a room and starts trolling for dick. *blech!* So this time, he's got this younger, thinner guy that he brought with him from Springfield. The younger one is hanging out with Matt and they're having fun. Cowboy doesn't have a cowboy hat this time, but a McCain-Palin ball cap. He even makes a couple cracks, but i keep it reigned in since it's Matt's birthday and the cowboy is a known entity and i ignore him and give the younger one the benefit of a doubt. But then, cowboy makes some kinda crack and then the younger one starts in with him. What it was, exactly, no one can remember or will tell me. All i remember is that i had a fire in my eyes and got up, started grabbing Matt's cake and my camera and stuff off the bar and whatever and said, "OK, that's enough, we don't have to sit here and listen to this shit" or words to that effect. It was either leave or beat the shit out of cowboy and junior. Robert and Richard are stunned, Matt said "i guess we're leaving". It's bad enough that these closet-case, married republicans come down here trolling for dick, but then when they start spouting off like that and emphasizing how proud they are to support people who want to legislate us into second class citizenship (rather than the implied classification we have now) right in our face and in our home, that's too much. i will not have my family threatened and insulted like that. Fuck these people. Matt was kinda pissed at first, but when i explained the reasoning behind my outburst, he was proud of me and knew i did it because i loved him.
