Tuning Out

Sunday couldn't have started off slower and that's OK. my two Matthews slowly woke up and we sat around a bit chit-chatting and looking at some photos from earlier in the summer. Little Matt was feeling much better, but Big Matt won't get any real relief until he has dental surgery on one of his toofeses on Wednesday. They were getting hungry and didn't want us calling around trying to organize a group brunch since that can sometimes be like, well, like "pulling teeth".
So we just went by Novak's. Bubba was working and i'd been trying to touch base with him for a couple of months, but our paths hadn't crossed. i'd promised Elijah/elijahblack that i'd give Bubba his email address so they could talk about possible gigs and so i got him on the phone to make sure i had the right address. It was a good enough excuse to call and it was good to hear his voice. He was in NY doing a gig and we passed the phone around so everyone could say "hey". Afterwards, we came back to the house and little Matt got ready and headed back to Memphis and big Matt trundled off to bed and i just kinda hung out. The closing ceremonies of the Olympics were OK, but i'm glad they're over. Jimmy Page was looking pretty rough as he and Leona Lewis played ... well, now i can't remember what Zep' tune they played. But again, the sound was atrocious; like some kid holding up his cellphone. You'd think that they could tap into the soundboard or something. i'm just not having much luck with that lately, am i? *sigh*
