Welshmen Choose Pigs, Bears and Beers
Tim/timbearuk and his hubby, Steve, hit St Louis yesterday afternoon and after work, Matt and i picked them up for dinner. We decided to take them to Pennie's Bar-B-Q, one of our favorite places (written about here) for some down-home eatin'. Nothing fancy, but you're there for the food, not the decor. While Steve and Matt went for the pork chops and i chose the ribs, Tim decided to challenge "The Pigcicle", 26oz. of barbequed pork on a stick. Even though we all ate more than we probably should, the Pigcicle got the best of Tim and he couldn't finish it. Just as well, since we took them down to JJ's for "dessert". We got there on the tailend of Art's shift and darts was winding down as well, so everyone was in a hearty mood and welcomed our travelers with open arms. Of course, as you know, there's something about the place that makes shirts disappear and tonight was no exception. Fun and frivolity ensued and we had a lovely evening and the guys were wonderful and had a good time too. Alas, time is tight and work loomed early in the morning so we called it. Matt and i have to get the truck and trailer ready for an early departure to Cactus Canyon in the morning, but there is a good chance that the boys will be making a return appearance back at JJ's this evening. Jeff & Jerry are tending bar tonight, so it promises to be a fun evening. Hell, if i get the truck packed, maybe i can sneak down for a bit myself. Hope springs eternal in the heart of the heartland bear.
