To The Bitter End

May 16, 2008 06:04

Yesterday was rough. i felt like crap, but i showed up anyway. No matter, my part was good and actually, the whole project was kinda bottlenecked by another section. But it gave me some time to catch up on my documentation and the pressure was off which was what i needed to get through the day. i picked up a bottle of Motrin at lunch and that got me feeling a little better.

But the afternoon, it was apparent that our group didn't need to stick around until the bitter end on Friday since we've done everything we could do. We might have a little to do on Saturday, but we can do that remotely. Everyone started checking on earlier flights or possibly a red-eye, but the only things that would get me out of town would have me spending the night in either O'Hare or DFW and their seats aren't what i would call "comfy". Besides, i have a meeting early this morning that i can hopefully get something accomplished in. Then i'll bail for the airport about 10 in hopes of catching a 1230 flight that will get me in to St Louis at 7pm instead of midnight. Fingers are x'd.

On a side note, my sincerest condolences to Owen/bigbear4xl on the sudden passing of his dear husbear, Dan/legionbear. my heart goes out to him.
