That's The Rub
Yesterday we made our CostCo run and were runnin' short on a lot of stuff. Lots to stock up on and i wisely avoided the "goodie aisles" where i might be tempted. Still, we managed to rack up about $180 which, by CostCo standards, is getting off pretty light. Alas, we still had to go to Dierbergs to get produce and other stuff. *sigh*
On the way home, we passed the same dealer where we bought Matt's Mercedes nearly 6 years ago. Lately we've been talking about me needing "reliable transportation" if i was going to be working here in town instead of on the road and, alas, the wooferJeep just doesn't fit the bill. What caught my eye was this '98 Mercedes SLK230. OK, it's 10-years-old, but it's only got 45,000 on the odo. Matt's is a '95 with nearly a quarter of a million miles on it and it's still running like a champ.
They want about $17k, but i looked up the Kelly Blue Book and it's closer to $14, so we've got a bit of a discrepency. Plus, who's gonna finance it? Banks don't normally back used cars longer than 5 or 6 years tops. i'm sure i could get a signature loan for that much (damn my good credit!) but at what rate? *sigh* We had this bag of change from Matt's "sneaker jar", do you think that would be enough? It was fun to drive and yes, i drove it with the top down. Maybe it's something to get me started thinking. The wJ is rusting apart further by the minute, but i'll keep it until it falls apart on Highway 40...though that road will never by "Highway 40" again once they've road constructed all the soul out of it. By the time they get done, it'll just be boring new Interstate 64. *yawn*
When we got home and put away the groceries, i got to give Matt a rubdown with the oil. It keeps him nice and smooth and soft which makes us both happy. Plus i can help by massaging the backs of his legs. Now that he's got the new knee and a job where he's hoppin' and boppin' i want to make sure that he's not favoring one over the other, so he's using those leg muscles in new ways. And i get to caress him, so it's a win-win situation. WOOF!
