OK, so yesterday at about 5:45 in the very foggy morning on the way to the airport, i got a call. "This is American Airlines..." i reached down to turn off the radio and when i got the phone back to my ear i heard, "...we're sorry for the inconvenience." SHIT! Fortunately, i have American on speed-dial and soon found out my flight was cancelled. They had rebooked me on a 9:30 routed through Dallas arriving in Minneapolis at 3:30 in the afternoon!! Fuck that. i got them to put me on a Northwest flight...which was delayed waiting for the crew to arrive from Denver. When i finally got to MSP, my name wasn't on the big board so i had to scrounge a car. It was snowy and slippery, but i made it to where the office was, but stopped across the way at Jimmy John's for a sandwich since it was already after 12. i called my boss to see if he wanted me to pick something up, but he was just getting to the rental counter himself. i got to the office and the two kids who had just started on the project last week said, "we're locked out of the system. There's a meeting at 3pm." Long story short, the project is shutting down. The global team just didn't have their shit together, so no one is really surprised. Good people...just not enough time. i'm doing some close-out work...from my room at the Marriott. Weird. i'm not sure if they'll have us leave today or tomorrow, but it's one o'clock now, so i guess i'll be staying the night. i'm going to miss this city.
