Great pics Woofer. You're a inspiration. After checking out the last picture from this post, I thought it would be cool if you recreate Led Zeppelin's "Houses Of The Holy" or the Rush symbol with the star. It would be a cool project to do. I'm going to check out the Rock N' Roll Museum before it'll open until early next year. Greg Kots & another Chicago Tribune reviewer had some problems with the concept. Believe it or not, while Flist & RnR Art Project open, The Star Wars exhibit also opened & George Lucas was in town for it(It will also open till early next year). So this past weekend was really jumping when it comes to Art. Take care & Big Bear Hugs.

I totally agree with the Fear No Art hypocrisy. But, to be fair, the Jackie O frieze is an actual Warhol, not a ripoff.

A dork? Only in the best possible way. :)
Actually I thought the same thing when I ran across it: "that's very Warholesque!"
Heh.

I knew those images looked familiar. I love Longo's work. I was first introduced to it 1980/1 with his image on Glen Branca's "The Ascension" LP.

I am a big fan of conceptual art, though. The fact that something might be simple and may not require the level of craft as something else is not really important to me - the ability to frame and contextualize is often enough. That doesn't imply i think somthig is a great work simply because I like it, but I'm not so quick to write anything off on principle alone. :)

oh and all those records on the floor like that...are they MAD!!! ;-)

I was an art history major in undergrad and I love contemporary art. That being said, maybe 85% of contemporary art is total derivative crap. It's finding those gems that's really rewarding.

btw, speaking of 'three fluorescent tubes'...I like Dan Flavin's stuff.
