Last night was the opening of the fList Art Show in Chicago and it was a roaring success. i was a little concerned at first. i'd gotten there a half-hour after it opened and it was sparsely attended and hotter than hell. So i went across the street for a couple of beers. When i got back, things were picking up and before long it built up into a wildly successful evening. Fortunately, there was a large rooftop area out back and by the end of the evening there were more people than could fit in the small gallery. At first i was wondering where everyone that i'd come to see where, but i spied a very tall figure in a battered ballcap slipping around a corner and knew that was Chris/chrisglass who was there with his woofy, non-lj'er, Dan. Not long after i got to meet talented and cuddly Jason/artbearny and his equally cuddly hubby, Randy/collegebearny, who had driven all the way from New York with their buddy, Norbert, and the amazing and controversial Charles/sofabeast. It was a really great evening and we hung as long as we could handle it. We even made some art! In keeping with the theme of the evening, there were tons of lj'ers in attendance to include grande and blachubear who you've noticed commenting here and tons more that i just met and who just met me (and are probably reading this blog for the first time thanks to my "LJ Trick Cards"). They are looking at having a show in St. Louis ("squeeee") and i might be invited to exhibit ("SQUEEEEEEE").
