Art For Art's Sake
Tonight is the big flist-art show in Chicago. i wasn't sure i was going to get to go, but since i'm back up here for training, i used some of those Marriott points to get a room at the Residence Inn downtown. Another draw is that there is a cool rock 'n' roll exhibit at the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art which is right around the corner from the hotel so i'll either see it this afternoon or tomorrow morning before driving home. But i'm really excited to finally meet some of the great artists that i've gotten to know and admire here on LJ, some that have driven in from all over to be here. Of course, i figured that i would pimp my LJ while i'm there so i made up these cards to give out. Is it proper to take trick cards to an art gallery opening? Actually, i wouldn't even call it a "trick card". Let's call it "portable art". Yeah, yeah, that's what we'll call it. If you're in town, head down to the Happy Dog Gallery. The fun starts at 7pm. i hope to be downtown by 3.
