woofer Has A Big Heart
"HEY! i THINK i CAN SEE THE HEAD!"
Monday morning, before i made my weekly flight up to Chicago, i had to go by my "gay doctor's" office. The reason for this visit is that on my get-to-know-ya physical, he found an anomoly on my EKG and suspected an "enlarged heart" so he ordered a test called an "echocardiogram" which, as it turns out, is nothing more than an ultrasound of your heart. kiwi59 came along, ostensibly to take the above picture (you can't have enough "blog fodder", if you ask me)...though i suspect that he wanted to be there in case they found anything...shall we say..."out of the ordinary"...and didn't think i'd tell him either to spare him the concern or to hide the fact that i needed to change my wicked, wicked ways or risk a coronary or something like that. Either way, it doesn't matter. i know he loves me and it's nice to know that he cares and i know enough not to bother arguing the point.
The test itself wasn't much. Basically, they take an ultrasound of your heart and then use Doppler radar (just like on the TV Weathercenter) to see how the valves are doing and which way all the blood is flowing and you can hear it whooshing around too!! The lady who ran the machine (she records it so the doctors can review it later) said that everything looked fine, better than fine, actually. She didn't see any of the major flags that indicate emergency action (tumors, leaks, etc).
So now we wait. No biggie...my BP was up a tad, but no shit! Hell, i put on a ton since the last time, so it was pretty much a given that it would. So i need to work on that. Not a resolution or anything, just a statement of fact.
