I feel like putting work off for a bit longer. It's Sunday, the day of relaxation, why bother with school work? Pffft. Pfft. On to a movie meme, I think I've done several times before, but I'm going to do it again anyway.

1. Total number of films I own on DVD and video.

DVDs: 144
Videos: No idea, they're spread about the house everywhere. Some under the entertainment center, some upstairs by my cds, some in the closet, one even to my left, etc. etc.

2. Last film I bought.

Three... Extremes. I really dug the Fruit Chan segment "Dumplings" with Bai Ling. Mmmmmm, Bai Ling. Creepy too.

3. Last film I watched.

Amazing slasher film called Hide and Go Shriek. Amazingly bad with some moments of sheer badness that transcended themselves into comic gold. I'm on a bit of a slasher film kick. The next one up is going to be The Prowler.

4. Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no particular order).

Chungking Express. Not only my favorite film of all times, but a film very comparable to my own life: Longing to meet that special someone, endlessly quirky, sad, but a bit upbeat. If a movie could be a person and vice versa, it would be this one. I could watch it on an endless loop forever.

The Evil Dead. This film has risen from being a cult film to having a life of its own, but flash back years ago to when my friends and I were in grade school, this film and its sequels were constant lunch table fodder. I remember buying a used copy of it from Tapes Unlimited on my 12th or 13th birthday and watching it that evening. So scary; I about pissed my pants when a boy in a baseball uniform rang the doorbell selling candy bars right when the character of Cheryl was running back to the cabin.

May. Supremely underrated gem of a horror film. How often do you get to see a great horror film with a heart. Not many. If you've ever felt like a social outcast or a misfit, you'll see yourself in May brilliantly played by Angela Bettis.

An endless line of comedies or cute films that make me feel happy including Heathers, Kicking and Screaming, Amelie, Pee-wee's Big Adventure... I'll stop the list there.

5. If you could be any character portrayed in a movie, who would it be?

Any film where I could be a suave, cool guy instead of the lame-o, humorless loser character I currently play in the film of my life.

...

Alright. On my way to starting a few month long project simply called It. Wish me luck.
