I agree, the comparison was bad and I understand your point. I'm sorry I posted it.

I read it as more an overview of the situation, replace "Your family" with "your society and media" and I still believe it is correct.
Yes it's pessimistic but money and easy answers are what people like. And money runs everything.

Not what I like, or you like, or a great many of our friends do but the society is more comfortable with believing that IF the govt. takes someone under shady reasons, they probably should. I hope this will change, I am trying to help this change.

I believe... That, "IF the government takes someone under shady reasons, they probably should." And honestly... I believe that is a rather common believe held by citizens of every nation run by what they perceive to be a fair and just government. That being said, there is a WORLD of difference between the government taking "someone" and the government taking your husband/wife/friend. It is in the latter that our closely guarded freedom of speech allows for entire avenues of options to open before us.

Perhaps that is the true difference in perception which led to the original statement... Someone who spent a lifetime under an unfair, unjust, unrighteous government... Would look at a nation filled with people who trust the government they have created, and tremble in fear. Of course, as I said... The belief that our government knows best only goes so far as strangers. And that is something that perhaps he hadn't seen or realized.

I will do more than stand up

I have hidden friends fleeing from the feds before, and I will do it again if I have to

The government of this nation serves Satan. Its purpose is your miserable demise. I will fight.

As would everyone else... Friends and family would never allow such a thing to go unacknowledged and they would speak out, safe in the belief that the laws of this nation were created to protect us, ALL. (Innocent OR Guilty)

However, to say that this government serves Satan would be to suppose that such a being exists. Which, would of course require believing in the latest God in a long line of man-made beings who dwell in the sky and watch over us... Only since the 50's, when Christianity got its' filthy claws into this great nation have we acknowledged that there may be a god above. So, if anyone brought Satan into the mix, it was the Church.

Eulogy of a Negligent Pacifist:

OMG THE NEXT EPISODE OF JERSEY SHORE IS COMING ON

OMG THE SUPER BOWL

OMG DISTRACTIONS COMING FROM THE SHINY BLINKY NOISE BOX

I would have stood against oppression, but the commercial break didnt last long enough.

It is easy for someone to allow injustice to happen to those they don't know... Bust down their front door and take from this same pacifist a wife, a brother, a best friend... You will have an entirely different creature.

Yeah, there are few things that can motivate a person like seeing someone they care about suffering or hurt.
