Friday - The weekly Friday Night Magic tournament at the store went well, albeit a small turnout.  However, considering the upcoming release tournament this weekend, I think we'll be fine...  I hope.

Saturday - Spent the morning making some headway with sorting mail and paying bills...  It's not that I don't have the money...  I just don't have the TIME!  And automatic payments are great, but not everything is set up that easy.  And just to slow things down...  My internet connection at home has been horrible lately...  The cable company blames my 5yo cable-modem.  I suppose I'm due for another one about now.  Headed out to the 'burbs with
wolf_ygdrassil to hit the LAFF softball game.  Much fun was had, I lost a belt in the process...  Following that, headed to a friend's graduation party followed by a night out at local leather/gear bars Touche and The Hole with
jet_der_hund,
invncble,
huskydoggeh,
perro,
darkwolph &
wolf_ygdrassil and met up with
wolfybrenn &
evil_spork as well as
daveqat &
jimcyl.  MUCH fun was had ( Sorry 'bout the pants SpORK!) although...  As my place was used as a staging area, my floors are now dangerously slick and I've almost killed myself several times now.  Need to scrub things down I suppose...

Sunday - Got a good night's sleep then ran by the store for a few minutes to help Erik out, followed by a return to the 'burbs to see Batman with
tozier_wah,
kwik,
wolf_ygdrassil,
kai_darkwolf &
fordshepherd...  Yes, it was an awesome movie.  Although, I wouldn't call it life-changing or "The greatest movie ever" as some have...  Owning a comic book store, I've seen a LOT of different takes on the Batman mythos and so I understand that it is fluid and everyone has their take on it...  However, as mind-blowingly awesome as everyone feels Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker was, and don't get me wrong, it was a VERY well written and VERY well acted interpretation of the Joker...  When I see the Joker, in my head...  I see Detective Comics #826 as written by Paul Dini and drawn by Don Kramer & Wayne Faucher.  In my head...  That one comic, WAS Joker, to me at least.  The Joker in this movie, while excellent in it's own right...  wasn't "the best", but it was amazing.  But that's just my opinion.    After the movie,
wolf_ygdrassil and I headed over to
hypersnazz's place and met up with
perro and
darkwolph for an awesome Birthday BBQ dinner as thrown together by
colliedoc.  MUCH food, good drinks and great conversation was had and it was truly, the best way I think any of us could have wound down the weekend.

friends, leather, bars, movie, bbq, cocktails
