Currently: feeling totally nostalgic for 2014

Loving: That I'm 3 for 3 in Simbang Gabi (which is like a 9-day novena mass counting down to Christmas except it goes down at 5am). I am not a morning person. I can barely get up at a normal hour but given my current state of unemployment, I have no excuses for missing this ritual that I've only completed once in my life. I hope writing it down doesn't jinx it, but I'm hoping I can continue my streak.

Reading: A shitload of magazines that I've backlogged all the way from June 2014. At the end of last year, Zinio went on crazy sales and so I thought why not? I've always been a magazine fan and the beauty of the digital magazine is I won't have stacks of clutter. So I bought them with great deals and now I haven't read any of them all the way back to June. But I'm relishing it and realising I do love magazines in whatever format they come. I'm generic and so I like Glamour and Marie Claire (I suppose I am of working-age and can relate) and GQ (because it's always so funny).

I did finish We Were Liars by E.L. Lockhart and I'm glad I got to read it in one afternoon because it was pretty worth it. I didn't know what to expect, so the entire thing was a pleasant surprise to say the least. I'm not reading any more books this year, except maybe for Yes, Please but next year, I'll retain the same goal. I wasn't too pressured this year but also I think I was more selective.

Watching: I'm still doing my Gilmore Girls re-watch and kind of want to do a Felicity one but I also finished The Musketeers which I really liked. I'm excited to see the next season come January. I'm still obsessed with Jane the Virgin and I'm glad that Hart of Dixie is back even if only for an episode until next year.

I'm also sad that The Newsroom is over and done with even if it's nowhere near The West Wing levels, it was pretty fun coming from a broadcasting background in college. And Homeland continues to impress week after week (Peter Quinn owes me forever and ever and ever and ever). I can't believe next week is the finale.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Christmas episodes of Doctor Who and Downton Abbey. Everyone should do a Christmas special. Though The Mindy Project and New Girl had pretty entertaining holiday episodes. I miss Gossip Girl-levels of holiday episodes.

Anticipating: the 2014 year-ender post I do. I still don't have Photoshop installed on this laptop so I'm not sure how I'm going to pull this one off, but I'm excited to list all my favourite movies and TV shows and songs and books and celebrities and just looking back at 2014 fandom-wise and RL-wise. I guess I'm just going to look at my Currently tag but also at my Last.fm and my Goodreads and everything else. I'm excited to get that going.

Listening to: The Lorde-curated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 OST which I'm really enjoying -- though I kind of wish there was much more Lorde in it. Though I'm also listening to Tinashe and FKA twigs on rotation just because they're on a lot of best of 2014 lists and I'm trying to catch up on things I missed because I lived in my Taylor Swift bubble (I have no shame).

Planning: Buying luggage and finally packing. Though the SG-bound trip is technically for just a month, I'm hoping I can extend my visa and so I need to pack. I'm glad the room is fixed and so I've streamlined the packing options, but I have to buy the luggage and actually get around to doing it. Perhaps after the holidays are done.

Working on: proofreading a manuscript and writing one more article. The great thing about my former employment, is that I can still get freelance projects from friends. And though I'm not grammar nazi, I guess I have a pretty good grasp of the English language, enough to proofread. Proofreading is making me want to write fic again though

Wishing: My brother Pietro could come home for Christmas. But alas LA is too far away and too expensive a ticket and he's new at his work so he's not taking leaves yet but still. I miss him terribly and I know he misses us, so I just wish wish wish he could magically appear even if only for just Christmas eve.
