Trailer Tuesdays: Still Reeling from the Millennium Trilogy; Also, Anne & Jake Own Me

Aug 24, 2010 12:15

[IHJ Media]Having just finished all three movies in the Swedish production of The Millennium Trilogy (is there an LJ comm for the books or movies?), I am now uber excited for the US version. Though they'll probably be watering it down, I have high hopes that David Fincher's Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (with the gorgeous Rooney Mara) will be awesome. For now, even more movies I want to catch before the end of 2010.

Love and Other Drugs

Do I really need to give a reason why I'm excited for this? No? Okay. But you know I will, cause rambling is what I do best. TWO OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD together in a romantic comedy. I don't care if it flops or the many cliches in the trailer, but it's got Jake and it's got Anne and it's got sexy times and cuteness. My world is perfect. Bonus would be all the publicity they'll be doing together.

Black Swan

I happen to love ballet movies and now we've got Natalie Portman in it, so it couldn't get any more perfect. Though Center Stage will always own my heart, I'm sure this one will work it's way in there. Obviously, I'm a frustrated ballerina. Plus, it looks like she got a boyfriend out of the movie too! So everyone really wins.

Never Let Me Go

My parents got me the book from Singapore, so I'm excited to read it before it shows (if it ever gets here) but I'm really excited to read this story since everyone seems to like it. It also doesn't hurt one bit that the handsome Andrew Garfield is in it AND add some Keira and Carrey to that. It's got a creepy vibe to it, but I'm really excited.

Tron: Legacy

Because On the Road is too far away, I'll have to see Tron: Legacy first and Garrett Hedlund is looking UH-mazing in the trailer. This guy has gotten exponentially more cute as his filmography gets longer. Plus I'm sure we'll be getting more Tron references in Chuck this season so that's fandoms colliding again. Garret, I know you don't want to guest star on TV, but would you make an exception for Chuck>

Buried

I don't know whether Ryan Reynolds will be in the coffin under the ground the entire time, but it's alright, because it is Ryan Reynolds and I don't mind him filling my screen. This movie has gotten some buzz for some reason and I'm curious to see why. Also did I mention it's Ryan Reynolds? Yeah, just in case you need more convincing.

Unstoppable

I feel like I'll be watching this movie with my dad for completely different reasons. My dad, for the action; while I will be in the cinemas for Chris Pine. I have yet to see him in something after his take as Captain Kirk so I'll take what I can get. Plus if this movie promises dirty, sweaty Chris, then I'm all for it.

Somewhere

Though there isn't anyone in particular I'm watching out for in this movie, it is directed by Sofia Copolla and I always enjoy her films. Then I read what it was about and I'm drawn in even more. Stephen Dorff as the actor father of Elle Fanning (SHE IS SO BIG NOW)? I sense cuteness. I don't know how dramatic it'll be, but the trailer paints a really poignant story. I hope I get to see this.

Burlesque

I'm a sucker for a musical and it's got Ms. Aguilera in it so I'm sure there'll be a lot of diva-offs in this one. I'm sure it's ripped off all the musical cliches you can think of, but it just looks like fun and I'm easy to please. Plus I didn't know Cam Gigandet was in it! I really wish he were in more Twilight movies (they always kill the cute blonde ones), but I digress.

Due Date

Robert Downey, Jr. and Zach Galifankis in ONE movie. It's bound to be awesome. Plus with all the seriousness in my list, I deserve at least one comedy and this is a good one to bet on. I don't even need to read what it's about. I'm sold.

How Do You Know

Though I'm not Reese Witherspoon's biggest fan, the rest of the cast of this movie (Paul Rudd, Owen Wilson and Jack Nicholson) are enough to get me interested in it. Seeing Paul Rudd in anything makes me remember the good old Clueless days and it always makes me smile, so I'm sure Rudd will charm the pants off me again.
