It's funny cause it took me forever to watch The Notebook. I only saw the movie that started the epic love of Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling a few weeks ago, no joke. But it doesn't mean I was blind to just how adorable they were in real life.

They were one of those couples that you'd see on the red carpet and off the red carpet just being themselves and being totally comfortable with each other and I loved it. They didn't hide it but they weren't really flaunting it in an annoying way either.

And of course, there was that kiss at the MTV Movie awards. That is the way you accept an award -- of course it didn't hurt that they were together either. So when they were spotted a year ago and recently 'reunited' for a bit, it put my hopes up. Alas, I feel that was the last we'd see of McGosling.

"Ryan's been doing it longer than I have so he's a bit more seasoned and, you know, I looked at him sometimes for guideance. He understood the technical stuff a little bit better and um, and has a very interesting, you know, very intellectual way of looking at acting. I learned a lot from him."

"Lovely, and the truth is I probably wouldn’t have done the film if she wouldn’t have done it. All I knew was that she was a force to be reckoned with. How was I going to reckon with it, I had no idea. She's not someone you can ever dismiss or out into any category. She's many things."

What's it like to kiss this guy?
"Oh, it was… Uhhh, it’s hard to say when he’s standing right here (blushing). I can’t really say (laughing)."
Was that the best [kiss] you had on the screen?
"In my lifetime? So far? [slyly] It was pretty good, yeah."

"God bless The Notebook. I am still grateful for being introduced to one of the great loves of my life. But people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that."
-- Ryan on his real life romance with Rachel

"I feel like I want to give people hugs, they seem so sad. Rachel and I should be the ones getting hugs! Instead, we're consoling everybody else."
-- Ryan on how things were post-break up
