Life's little weirdnesses
Such a lovely dinner last night with antoniseb, redshinma, sitpadeshu & Z, ubiq31, and klynn330! Every time we're able to do something like that more or less spur-of-the-moment, I'm reminded that 1) yes, the house is a good thing, and 2) we have some remarkably awesome friends. There are a few pictures here, if you'd like to ogle the Kiss My Ass wine. :) Much gratitude to ubiq31 for magically producing a delicious dinner despite the unexpected fire hazard in the kitchen...
In other news, I've been considering going for an additional, mellower toned rauschpfeiffe for better harmonizing with others. My hunt was made significantly easier a couple of days ago by the arrival of a completely unexpected check in the mail (a company my parents bought stock in for me when I was something like ten years old got sold, and the shareholders were bought out). I can haz new instrument, woooo! I'm trying really hard to be responsible about the rest of the amount -- but EMS is (brutally unfairly, IMHO) showing a Kobliczek garklein (!!!) on their front page, and Sita has a crossbow I'd dearly love to take off her hands, and I seriously, seriously need a new computer, and I owe various institutions money anyway and... argh.
In the "coming soon" department: The tracks for the band's demo/teaser CD went off for burning yesterday. There are three acoustic songs and then three gothy, electronic remixes of those songs. They ain't perfect, for sure, but I'm pretty excited...
And on the "things the mini-monkey says" front:
"Mommy! Come here! I founded dis card here in my play-doh room [what she calls her playroom; the central feature is a table covered in play-doh accoutrements]. It not mine! I don't know who it belong to! I think it [Names of three siblings she knows]'s! I founded it and I said 'Huh, dat weird.'"
me: "Oh, look at that... hey, that's a [collectible RPG game; I thought it was Magic but on recollecting the image it must have been something else] card."
"Yeah, I founded it and I thought, dat weird!"
