More Pennsic

Stuff I wore a lot:
The green linen gown sitpadeshu made (ETA: and the red surcote scaharp made, too!)
The woven dark blue and gold pouch shalmestere made
The salamander pin nazrynn made
The País de la Canela someone (fieryredhead? hlinspjalda? pearlofvenice?) kindly gifted me at the BPAL meet-n-sniff -- it was a Pennsic miracle that it worked on my skin, and I took advantage of it while it lasted!

Random moments I really liked:
-Marching out to Opening Ceremonies with a full procession of Bhakailis in red and black, hoisting the salamander banners and singing the songs suba_al_hadid wrote
-Sitting around in camp with ulfhirtha and lots of other old friends and new after a long day, eating quail in orange-pepper sauce prepared by seoanwilliam
-Carousing our way through Midnight Madness with a riotous Bhakaili amoeba composed of ubiq31, klynn330, zhelana1052, auntiero, momtoast, beckishadow, redshinma, B, and anyone else we could assimilate. We almost got derailed by the folks offering free beer, but more or less regrouped and then bought lots of stuff. Wandering Gypsy Theatre hailed the barony and did a special performance of "The Voodoo Queen of New Orleans" just for us! :)
-Acquiring birthday loot at Midnight Madness, not quite at midnight but somewhere around 11:30 with the rain pouring down and most faithful retainer of all ubiq31 refusing to abandon us: my new band getup (black velvet sleeveless gown, deep red arm danglies and matching belt with tassels, from Moresca). No, I won't be wearing it to SCA events, you have to come to a show to see that outfit!
-Doing laundry in the middle of the night with M and J, who were cruelly stolen away from our encampment by their new household (phooey on that, I say! *grin*) and are much missed -- it was nice to have a bit of quiet time with them
-LOUD! BAND! with shalmestere and hudebnik
-All of the Court of Love, as previously mentioned, plus Bhakail Court where we got to give awards to three exceedingly deserving gentles
-The stories (and bruises) acquired by the fighters and archers of our newly enormous Army

Things the sprout really liked:
-Going to E's birthday party, where Wandering Gypsy Theatre told stories and she got both cake and a bag of loot. This party also featured a fluffy pink pony pinata; after several rounds of kid-whacking, the pony was undented, so S (former knight marshal of the next shire over from us) took a good thwack at it with the stick -- and broke the stick! The encampment had to bring out an actual *axe* to finally open the pinata up. They stuck the fluffy pink pony head on their gatepost in triumph.
-Making a cookie castle with graham crackers, ice cream cones, frosting, and candy decorations
-Visiting the misting tent with annyswolf and crew
-Sleeping in her very own miniature pup tent inside our tent (we didn't like that part quite as much, since just about every night involved us hearing a sequence that went something like rustle rustle rustle, zzzzzzzzzip!, toddle toddle, "I sleep in bed with you?")
-PLAYING WITH KIDS! THERE WERE KIDS! SHE LOVES KIDS! Seriously, she was beyond thrilled by being able to chase/be chased around by the kids belonging to E & J, annyswolf & ianraven, suba_al_hadid, and potent8 & Pelles. When I say chase, I mean "run laps around the camp all day every day until all the grownups feel faint just watching the activity level." Oy. The older kids were all great with her and indulged her ridiculously, including hauling her around in the camp cart and putting on a puppet show for her and B one afternoon.
-Wearing her new Viking apron dresses, courtesy of alysten -- insanely cute, although I still can't get her to keep a coif on her head for more than five minutes
-Being Queen of the May -- I mean, Marquessa of Blak Ikorndall :)

Camp sweet camp!

The L.C. and I holding court (heralded by ubiq31, and I swear that's me even though it could be a random mummy standing there!)
