(no subject)
I am now the -soon to be proud owner- of a new powerbook, 12 in model. Assuming China does not invade Taiwan before it is shipped.
Major life change below.
My boss, who has made my employment and the employment of so many good people an absolute misery for the last five years, has retired. I was on the committee to hire the new boss and shazaam, we hired the best possible candidate. Someone I have known and trusted for almost a decade. The tension and stress for the whole faculty has dropped and everyone is filled with a sense of relief. It was amazing how one person could make so many people so miserable for such an extended period of time.
This is without a doubt one of the most positive things that has happened in my teaching career. It would be hard to say that I am moved to tears at age 43, but - it is true. My own personal and extended tour through hell is over.
Life is good again.
