I heart Jazz
So, because Lance is the bitchin' director that he is, he let me have the night off from rehearsal tonight (even though we open in 2 weeks) so I could go sing at Rococo's with the jazz combo. So I called up Jess and I went down there with her and her roommate and it was AWESOME. It's sounds so lame, but jazz makes me forget about everything that sucks and just makes me happy. Singing with those guys and hearing them play just fills my soul. I love it. And what I love more, is that, unlike other things, I don't do it for the compliments. Although I got compliments tonight and relished in them, that's not why I do it. I do it because I can't not do it.
Jess and I are even more determined than ever to get our group together. We need to find a couple of guys and maybe one more gal and we'll be in business. We'll also be gigging at Rococo's every Monday.
