Laying on his bed with a bum ankle, Connor jumped when a he heard a loud rumble of thunder and seen a flash of lighting through a small window in the bedroom. He then heard the clacking of claws and the soft padding of small feet coming to the room’s door. After another bang of thunder and flash of lighting, he hobbled to the door to let his children and their four-legged companions into the room. Once the five settled back onto the bed. Both of his children on snuggled in to his sides with their favorites stuffed toys in hand. His son,Nicholas, on his right had a red leopard, while his sister Sarah had a blue frog clutch in her hand. He felt the bed dip down when Sid and Nancy finally made it to the top of the bed. He hope that Abby was safe during her trip to the store.
Relationships were never easy and his relationship with Abby was proof of that. His relationship with Abby as many ups as it did downs. When he first saw her, he knew she was the he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. The first problem he had was that at first Abby just saw him as an unwanted guest that stay longer than she wanted. She said so many times in that first month of his stay. The other problem was a guy named Stephen. Stephen was everything he wasn’t. Stephen was a athletic, outdoorsy type that was good with people. So he wasn’t too surprised that Abby tried to get Stephen’s attention any way she could and was by Stephen’s side when he was hurt. He was disappointed in Stephen when he didn’t do a thing concerning Abby. So he thought he still had a chance with her.
Over the next few the next few months a friendship was forged as people were lost. They got comfort from each other, a shoulder to cry on when needed. Their first major lost to the group was Stephen. After Helen Cutter ripped the group apart and hurt Stephen and the professor in the worst way possible. He was conflicted. He wanted to help the man he considered a brother but he also wanted to stay in good favor of the man he considered a father. He felt he was stuck in the middle of things. By the end of a long, harsh week they lost a good friend. The days after were hard and filled with quite tears. One month later Becker was introduced to the group.
Months after the one tragic day another tragic day followed. Helen showed up once again, destroying the ARC and shooting her husband. Connor was the one to find his mentor, father figure abandoned and left to die. He made a promise to the professor and to himself to keep learning about how the anomalies worked and the creatures that came from them. Three things kept him going during the next week. His work on the anomaly detector device and his side project an anomaly closer which he hoped to get working soon. The two Diictodons there were far from their homes kept him on his toes when he was home. During the morning hours the two little dinosaurs craved so much attention and food that he forgot the horrors of that one day. The night-time was a different story. Most nights were filled with nightmares featuring Cutter or, in rare instances , Abby dieing in his arms. On the worst nights when he would wake up shaking and sweaty, he would find himself quietly checking to see that Abby wasn’t hurt or in trouble. He also would find himself going to work before Abby was up to work about the ARC. Abby herself was a big comfort. Abby did many things like making his favorite foods for dinner and letting choose what to watch on the telly. Some nights she would just sit on the edge of his bed and talk to him until he fell asleep which helped him a lot.
A few months after Danny had leadership over the ARC team Abby’s brother showed up. He didn’t make a fuss when Abby asked him to leave. He just wanted Abby happy. Her brother lost Rex at one point . So he did the first think that came to mind. He to Becker and another couple of soldiers and scared the kid who had Rex. He made jack promise not to tell Abby how he was involved in Rex’s rescue. He just wanted Abby happy and Rex was one of those things that made her happy. After saving her brother after he went through an anomaly Abby kissed him. It was one of the greatest things in the world and he hoped it happened again soon.
His next kiss didn’t happen for a long time after the first. Helen showed up once again. So Danny, Abby and himself want after her through not one but two anomalies. He found himself injured after falling out a tree. He woke to find Abby protecting him from a raptor. He returned the favor by knocking the raptor out. As the days went by his injures healed and their love and trust for each grew. There were times that he didn’t think he would make it to the next day and at the end of those day he was glad that Abby was by his side. As the months went by arguments broke out and short sweet kisses were given as apologizes. They both learned about what made the other ticked and the feelings one had for the other. He felt good despite where they were at.
When the anomaly opened and they when thought and found themselves in a forest of concert and glass he didn’t know what to do. At first when the soldiers showed up and they where forced down to the ground he was scared but didn’t show it. When Becker showed up he felt a bit of relief knowing what time frame he was in. After getting to the new Arc building and learning that his knowledge wasn’t wanted made him mad. When they enter the white walled hotel room did his emotions get the better of him. It was when a soft hand touched his did look up to see tear going down Abby’s face as well.
After a couple of months back at work and living in a small rental house did the arguments start up. Most of their arguments were about Philip Burton or his work for the guy. He knew Abby’s hatred for guy started when Philip wanted the creatures died. Most of the fights ended up with his sleeping on the couch and being glared at the next morning. Most time they apologized by the end of the next day but the last they had was harsh and mean things were said. So the next morning he packed up some clothes and other items and went to a hotel to cool down and think about what he had with Abby. After a month of no contact with Abby, he sent a e-mail requesting to see her at a café they both loved going to. His heart thumped in chest as he sat down in front of her. Conversation was quite has they sipped their tea and coffee. Once their fingers touched words feelings flowed from his hearts and words left his mouth at slower speed than it was used to going. He told Abby that his lift without her in was sad, boring life and he would do anything to get on her good side again. She in turned told him that she missed him badly and wanted him back with her but needed space and time to herself. In the end hey decided they should take it slow and stay living apart, at least of the time being, since they have been side by side for the last four years.
Their first month a part was slow and somewhat painful but it was also good for him to be by himself. As the days went past his connection with Abby regained strength and their love and trust for each grew with each date, movie night and when they stayed together during the night. He learned, after a good amount of hacking into Prospero records and into Burton’s personal records, how his knowledge of anomalies was being used. What he saw made his stomach crawl and with the help of the Abby and Matt made a plan to shut down Prospero and Burton once and for all. Five months later the move back to the old home of the ARC was complete. Once the Prime Minster found out what Burton was doing and going to be doing decide to shut down Prospero Industries and start an investigation.
Months later there was a wedding. Connor proposed during a sunset during one of their trips on the coast and Abby said yes. Their closest friends and a couple of his cousins were there. Becker was his best man and Jess was Abby’s maid of honor. Lester, Danny and Matt were also there. The reception went by faster then he every though it. His every thought starting and ending with Abby. Their honeymoon was spent in Paris. The week was filled light kisses and even lighter touches that slowed down time. He never wanted that time end.
One year later the twins were born. Sarah Claudia Temple and her brother Nicolas James scared and thrilled him at the same time. At times he feared that he was doing the right thing for them yet he love for them was happy to double his love for each of them. Six years later he still felt that way. As another wave of thunder boomed over head he thought to himself as he felt another set of arms wrap around him wouldn't change a thing or how he got here.
