Death Note Rambles
Yeah...I'm bored so I'm gonna get my thoughts down, respond if you so wish.
Let's see there are many religious references with heaven, hell and purgatory not to mention apples are the main symbol, "divine punishment", bells and drying of a traitors feet. I could go on but I don't feel like it lol.
The drying of the feet moves me onto my point about L and Light.
Alright many say yada yada yada, they hate eachother, they're after eachother if anything they'd just be friends yada yada yada.
Have they actually paid any attention to the scene just after the rain one. There is romantic music playing in the friggin' backround and it sounds like Light is trying to keep an orgasm quiet with all the groans coming from Light as L massaged his feet.
How could anyone not see something in the pairing, the angst, the power struggle and c'mon two guys constantly handcuffed together for two or three months I think? The way they act around eachother there would have surely been some sexual tension.
I'm not saying that Light wouldn't want to kill L because he did and if L had caught Light, he still would have made sure he had the same punishment that Kira wouldn't have gotten if he wasn't Light if that makes any sense.
I could say, what they had was lust, was wanting something they knew was wrong couldn't have. Both are described as childish and stubborn so it wouldn't be a surprise, one trying to dominate the other as part of a struggle to prove eachother wrong.
Also Light and girls. The 'girlie' magazines he had he brought for in case something like camera's happened. You see him buy something in a store but not what and then you see the magazines. In my handy "How to Read" guide it says that Light could never love a women but says nothing about men.
If you disagree, whatever *shrugs*. That's how I see it at least and according to Ohba, Death Note is about making your own decisions about things.
