Fandom: Glee
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 491

Spoilers/Warnings: For everything up to S02E04: "Duets".
Summary: Fate and love are funny things.
Author's Notes: So I've been feeling really down for no reason recently and the amount of Sam/Kurt stuff around hasn't been helping, I've been desperate for some Kurt/Finn so I thought I'd write this little drabble because whoever Kurt ends up with, he'll always be drawn to Finn IMO.
Betaed by a friend without an LJ who has been doing a creative writing class, she has been very helpful with my writing lately ha ha.

Fate is known to have a sick sense of humor.
It will control you and play you, making you feel one way only to destroy it by taking you down another road.
It's even worse when it drags you back down that road without any choice.
Kurt had been moving on with Sam, he'd been happy to have his interest. Finally a guy who cared for him, who wanted to be with him. The problem was that there was always something inside of him that felt that it was wrong.
He ignored it though, dating the blond jock when he finally came out, accepted his friends congratulations and helped Sam put up with everything the neanderthals threw at him.
The one person who wasn't happy with it was Finn.
Kurt could see it in his eyes, an angry spark whenever he saw Kurt and Sam together, snapping at him even more and his rivalry with the blond had increased tenfold. It was almost as if he was jealous but that couldn't be true. Finn didn't like Kurt in that way, he'd made that perfectly clear.
Even so that didn't make their relationship any easier.
The tension was increasing again and again until one day it was just bound to snap.
It happened in Kurt's basement again, Finn had came over with his mom and the boy's had been hanging out in the basement doing their homework. They'd started to talk about school and everything had gone down hill from there.

“I'm surprised your working on me for this project...”
“And what's that supposed to mean?”
“Well Sam is in US History with us. Thought you'd want to be paired up with him.”
“Do you have a problem with my boyfriend Finn? Because if so just spit it out and then we can get back to work.”
Pens fell to the floor.
Eyes met.
“It's not good for you to be dating him. He still has a thing for Quinn.”
“And how do you know? If he likes Quinn so much why is he with me?”
“I....look...I don't know but he isn't right for you.”
Eyes darkened.
Space shortened.
“Listen Finn...I've had enough of your closet homophobia. Just get over it, I'm dating Sam and there's nothing you can do to stop me.”
Sudden movement.
Rustling of clothes.
Finn knocks Kurt to the ground.
Hands feel.
Lips clash.
Moaning.
A knock on the door and a voice asking if they were okay.
Silence.

Fate is known to have a sick sense of humor.
It broke Kurt's heart, tore Finn away from him then introduced Sam only for his heart not to really be in the relationship.
They say that a red string connects you to your soul mates, a string that not even fate can break.
A string that brings Kurt back to Finn only this time...who knows whether he'll be happy.
