Regionals.

The competition would be stiff, everyone needed to work hard and work together well if they wanted a chance of winning. The tip was to get ahead of the competition, have an inside ear on the judge's track to find out what they wanted to hear. It wasn't an easy thing to do, but Mr. Schuester had somehow managed it.

At least, that was what he'd told the group once they'd assembled for practice one Wednesday after school.

The teenagers were scattered throughout the room; split into the different groups, as usual, with Finn having joined Rachel after the split with Quinn. Rachel seemed proud of this fact, whenever she spoke to him she seemed oddly loud about it. She acted as if Finn had cheered up and had returned to normal because of her, because of her oh-so-wonderful friendship and her completely non-grating, over-controlling diva attitude. It wasn't though… if it hadn't been for Kurt, Finn probably would have never left that pit of a room of his. Kurt was the one who'd bothered, who'd gone over there and had forced Finn to get out and do something, the one who had listened and had cheered him up. What did that count for in high-school, though? Nothing. Oh, sure, Finn was a little friendlier and more willing to hang out, but he didn't go out of his way to be with Kurt. Not that Kurt had expected he would.

Anyway, everyone was sitting around the room, watching Mr. Schuester as he dropped two separate piles of paper into two different hats before he turned to face the group and clapped his hands together.

“Okay guys, apparently the judges are going to want something a little different this year. So, we're going to have to try something new…” he explained as he studied the group. The teenagers all just watched him carefully until he carried on.

“One thing they'd like to see is duets. Not just any duet, though, they want to see two people of the same gender performing together. Now if we're going to do this we're going to do it right, just like with your ballads I want you guys to find a song that honestly shows how you feel for each other and you have to be working together. You have to agree on the song and songs will be performed during practice in two weeks’ time, the best couple may well be performing their song for Regionals.”

There was silence then as everyone thought the task over; most of them agreed that it wouldn't be that bad. It wasn't like they had to sing a love song with each other but of course some people had issues with it. Puck personally didn't like the idea. He wasn't exactly good friends with anyone in the group anymore and what if he got stuck partnered with Kurt? The homo would probably end up getting a flaming crush on him and Puck really didn't need that. He had a reputation as a tough guy on the football team and now he had Quinn to look after, he didn't need the bloody gay kid all over him as well. As one of the hats was passed to him, he stared in it for a few moments before he groaned and stuck his hand in, pulling out a single sheet of paper before he opened it.

Artie.

So he was stuck working with the kid in the wheelchair, great. Well he supposed it wasn't that bad then, at least Artie had a thing for that Tina-chick. It was a lot better then being stuck working with a fucking fag.

Kurt on the other hand was rather pleased with who he had got to work with, he was actually starting to believe that fate was trying to tell him something due to the fact that whenever Mr. Schue had them partner up using the hat, he always got Finn. That was ridiculous though, it was just pure luck, and Kurt just hoped that Finn wouldn't have any trouble working with him this time around. Last time it was just singing to him, now he had to sing with him. As Finn stood up and signaled him over with a grin, Kurt decided that it didn't matter and he was sure Finn would be fine this time around. They'd grown a little closer as friends after all.

*****

It had been half an hour since Finn and Kurt had split from the rest of the group to try and come up with an idea for a duet, Kurt had almost suggested “You're The One That I Want” from Grease but one of the first things Finn had said was that he did not want to do a song from any musical, especially not Grease. He’d claimed that he'd had a bad experience with that song and that he still had nightmares about it.

That still left quite a few options but Kurt wasn't too sure of what type of song they were really going for. Most duets tended to be romantic and though he felt that way for Finn, he didn't think that the quarterback felt the same way about him. Plus he felt that...it should have a Finn feel to it as well, the majority of duets he knew just weren't really 'Finn'. He'd tried asking the taller male but he didn't really know many duets, his knowledge of such music was decidedly limited. He guessed he would just have to broaden his own knowledge of music just to find a duet that would suit them both.

*****

“You wanna come back to my place to work on the duet?” Finn asked as the two teenagers exited the auditorium, the smaller brunet had turned his head to raise an eyebrow at his friend but the quarterback just grinned down at him, looking kind of hopeful if Kurt had to be honest. A trickle of hope rose in the soprano’s own gut at that look and he couldn’t stop himself from agreeing,

“Sure, am I to assume that I’ll be driving us back to yours?” At least Finn had looked sheepish at that fact when he’d nodded, rubbing the back of his head in a rather adorable way. No, he needed to stop thinking like that for the evening otherwise things could quickly become awkward. It could start out with innocent flirting that Finn would of course, be completely oblivious to but what if he started suggesting duets that had a romantic theme? Kurt was well aware that he had very good control over himself and his emotions but when it came to music he preferred to be honest with how he felt in song. Only that would just lead to Finn being uncomfortable around him again and they wouldn’t hang out anymore.

Obviously agreeing to go over his had been a bad idea in the first place.

Still it was too late for Kurt to go back on his word now, he would just have to be on his best behavior, if he had been able to deal with spending copious amounts of time with Finn to cheer him up without being more then friendly then he could do so now. Yes, it would be easy.

He hoped.

As he’d been going over that thought process the pair had gotten into the car and had gotten themselves sorted, so the smaller brunet started the car, attaching his Ipod and pressing play for something to listen to as they drove. Defying Gravity was the first song to start to play and Kurt hummed along as Finn stared thoughtfully out of his window.

“Isn’t this the song that both you and Rachel really wanted to sing that time?” the jock asked out of nowhere, turning his head to watch Kurt as he answered.

“Yes, she won it fair and square even though we didn’t perform it at sectionals in the end.” So Kurt’s tone may have been slightly curt there but honestly, there had been no need for him to purposely drop the note in the end. He had only done it because he didn’t wish to cause his dad anymore harm and now it turned out that he could have won that solo, have had the pride of publicly proving he was a better singer then Rachel rather then embarrassing himself in front of his friends yet he wouldn’t have had to perform the song on stage. He supposed the results may have been different if he had sung it as well as he could but that chance was gone now. He was glad he hadn’t caused his dad anymore trouble by proving he could hit that f note but it was still a sore subject for him so after a few more moments in silence, Finn’s request surprised him.

“Sing it to me? This is going to sound really stupid but I like to hear you sing. Your voice is errrrr…” he asked, trailing off when he wasn’t sure what word to use which caused Kurt to chuckle slightly.

“As you wish,” he responded as he tapped along to the tune on the steering wheel, waiting for the chorus to start.

“I'd sooner buy,
Defying gravity,
Kiss me goodbye,
I'm defying gravity,
I think I’ll try defying gravity,

And you won’t bring me down,” he sung but he stopped after one round of the chorus, if he sung anymore he’d have to choose whether to hit or drop the note again and he didn’t want to have to explain himself to the other male.

Turned out he didn’t have to though, as the taller brunet simply clapped gently and grinned that grin of his again at the petite brunet male,

“You’re a really good singer, you should get more solo’s,” Finn complimented, seeming to believe that the quality of his voice affected the amount of solo’s he got. Well, he supposed it did in a way, Mr. Schuester wasn’t that that cruel but Finn and Rachel got the most solos. Sometimes Artie got a big male part and that was just the way things were. Kurt just wished that he would be able to perform a song with Finn on stage and not just be in the background for once. He supposed this little duet competition was his one and only chance.

“Well this duet could give me the chance, I guess we’ll just have to perform the best duet,” he responded, keeping his eyes on the road though he did turn his head slightly to smile back at the taller male as he got a “totally” in response.

Taking the turning down the road for Finn’s house, he parked in the driveway where the Hudson family car usually sat but he left room in case Finn’s mom got back while he was still there. Who knows maybe they would be so busy working or get so into their music it could turn into a sleepover. Oh, no, that wouldn’t work, they had school the next day and there was no way Kurt would go in wearing the same clothes as the day before and Finn’s clothes would be far too big on him. Plus if he did wear something of Finn’s other people would be bound to recognize it, they had completely different styles after all. People would then assume that something had happened between them when in reality nothing would have. Finn probably wouldn’t help with his oblivious confusion either, then again maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to have people think that. It would certainly shut Rachel up anyway. The thought brought a little smirk to Kurt’s lips but that was when Finn had gotten out the car and had turned around to ask him why he hadn’t gotten out of the car yet. A small flush crossed the pale boy’s cheeks as his crush looked down at him amused, right, Kurt thought he better get out of the car then. Before Finn thought he was even more insane then he probably already did.

The two got inside quite quickly after that, gathered together some snacks for Finn-Kurt wasn’t going to touch the potato chips, he didn’t need the calories-and headed up to Finn’s room to do some research online.

It seemed to be taking ages to find a good duet, it seemed near impossible to find a non-romantic duet which wasn’t too ridiculous or from a musical. Finn had even teased Kurt about them doing “If You Were Gay” from Avenue Q which had caused Kurt to pick up one of the pillows from the bed he was laying on to throw at the jock who had just laughed and had thrown it back at him. The research session turned out to be pretty relaxing and by the end of it they had compiled together a list of random duets to listen to.

It was when that they found the perfect duet though neither male said anything aloud, both thinking that the other wouldn’t be interested.

“Good to You” by Marianas Trench featuring Kate Voegele.

You see lately Finn had found himself watching Kurt more, he started noticing things that he’d never noticed about boys before and it was admittedly freaking him out slightly. Seriously, what straight guy goes around checking out one of his guy friend's ass. Not that it was his fault mind you. In fact, he could practically blame Kurt if he wanted. It's not like Finn can help staring when the smaller boy wears such tight skinny jeans that hug his slim hips and small ass nicely. It was like...Quinn in her cheerio's uniform or Rachel in one of her short skirts. It was just teasing him! How could his eyes not be drawn there!? It was so unfair. It wasn't like he didn't try to look away either but his eyes were just drawn there and how could he not look if Kurt was bending over right in front of him!

Okay, so maybe he was over-reacting a little but could you really blame him?

The thing was that he didn’t want the hassle, he felt bad enough for Kurt over getting put through some serious crap over his sexuality, he didn’t want to go through it himself. Plus it wasn’t like he was planning on telling Kurt, how could he? Especially as he wasn’t really looking for a relationship even if Rachel seemed to think he wanted one with her. He knew that Kurt had a little thing for him and he didn’t want to hurt the boy, ruin their friendship. He liked being able to hang out with the smaller brunet, it was sorta fun. In fact he was really glad he invited the soprano over now, even if it was starting to get late and Kurt showed no signs of leaving yet.

Finn turned his head from where he sat at his desk, laptop open in front of him as music blared from his speakers and Kurt hummed along with the unfamiliar tune.

It was kind of cute actually.

The brunet had shut his eyes and had been nodding along to the music, allowing him to get lost in the music and in his thoughts. He supposed the girl’s verse suited him, he had pretended to be someone else, a football player for his Dad and okay, maybe partly for Finn. That had only been after he had actually gotten on the team though, his reason for joining the team had actually been completely un-crush related for once. Plus he’d pretended to be Finn’s friend, had pretended he wanted to help him with Quinn and her baby when he’d only really done it for selfish purposes, just so he would get to spend some time alone with the other but he supposed now he and Finn really were friends, he was no longer part of the football club and he was trying not to pretend anymore, apart from hiding his crush he supposed. That was a necessary secret though.

As he mused over this he heard Finn moving about and felt the bed go down as the taller male sat on it and poked him gently in the side.

“You’re not falling asleep are you? If you want to get home you can go y’know,” the other male asked quietly as Kurt opened his eyes and met the taller boy’s brown gaze.

“I’m not. I just find it helps you concentrate on the music if you shut your eyes,” he explained and the other nodded but it was obvious that he didn’t get what the difference between listening with your eyes open and closed was. Really, it was a simple concept! Still maybe the reason he didn’t get it was because he was hungry as he few minutes later the quarterback’s stomach rumbled and he blushed a very slight shade of pink.

“I guess the crisps weren’t actually that filling,” he commented with a shake of his head and Kurt just rolled his eyes and sat up, slipping off the bed to stand up and place his hands on his hips.

“How long until your mom get’s back?” he questioned and Finn stared at him slightly dumbly and Kurt fought off the urge to sigh and start tapping his foot in impatience.

“How long until your mom get’s home because I suppose I should be gone by the time she gets back but I can cook you something before I leave if you like,” he explained. The words seemed to tumble around Finn’s head for a few moments before he nodded and turned to check the time,

“She was on the late shift so she won’t be back until eleven…so that’s another two hours,” he told his smaller friend who looked slightly surprised. Time really had flown by but he couldn’t really complain it had been a nice evening/night after all.

“Okay then. How does an omelet sound to you?” Kurt asked as he headed for the door, Finn following him as the pair headed downstairs towards the kitchen.

“Sounds good, tell you what it doesn’t take long to make an omelet right? Why don’t I put a movie on and we watch that while we eat. You don’t have to go just yet after all, I’ll even put on one of my mom’s chick flicks for you,” the quarterback suggested, narrowly missing the smack on the arm Kurt sent his way as he opened the fridge.

“It’s nice to know you think so little of my taste in movies,” he called back as Finn left him to go looking through the DVD collection. The taller brunet just laughed in response,

“Actually there are some that aren’t completely crap. If a little…guessable?” he responded.

There was a snort from the kitchen,

“I think you mean predictable Finn. But okay then, I admit I like chick flicks and if you want to watch one I’m not going to insult your masculinity.”

Hey, it was hardly girly for him to watch it if he was watching it for Cameron Diaz.

So the food was cooked and the two teenagers settled onto the couch to watch the DVD, getting comfortable quite quickly and starting on their food as the movie started. In between mouthfuls they made casual observations on the characters, the plot…basically anything there was to talk and make fun of.

“Why the heck would he want to see her in a Girl Scout uniform? That’s just some weird role play right there,” Finn had commented dryly at one point and Kurt had turned to him with a raised eyebrow as he dropped their plates onto the coffee table in front of them.

“There is nothing wrong with wanting to wear a Scout uniform and not being part of one of those clubs and anyway, I think it is supposed to be humorous Finn.”

That had certainly got Finn laughing and once he calmed down all he said was,

“Seriously dude? You have a Boy Scout uniform? That is something I just have to see one day,” before he burst out laughing again. Only to receive the silent treatment for the next ten minutes of the movie.

Only half way through both boys started to nod off though and by the time Carole had gotten home they were both fast asleep with the DVD menu back stuck on the screen. She smiled at the sight of the two boys and turned the DVD off, went upstairs for a blanket and draped it over the pair of them before she went to go call the Hummel residence to tell Kurt’s dad where he was.

She was just glad her son was relaxing and having fun with his friends again.

*****

As Kurt slowly woke up he felt warm, comfortable and strangely like he was cuddling up to someone which was strange. He hadn’t had a teddy bear in years after all but instead of opening his eyes and finding out why, he simply snuggled up closer. He buried his face in the soft cotton material of whatever it was and breathed in the scent of something familiar. Something very masculine. Something very Finn.

Finn!

The smaller brunet froze, he was cuddled up on the sofa with Finn Hudson at the quarterback's house. Some girl's would kill to be in his place (read: Rachel Berry) but that wasn't why he'd frozen. Oh no. It was because Finn was also awake and was staring down at him slightly awkwardly.

“Ummm morning Kurt...” the other started but Kurt cut him off from whatever he was going to say by placing a hand on the others arm as he sat up and straightened out his wrinkled shirt.

Ugh, it was disgusting to sleep in the clothes you'd worn the day before and he couldn't believe he'd let his Dolce and Gabbana shirt get wrinkled. It was definitely going to need a good wash and ironing now.

“Good morning. Guess I really should have gone after making sure you ate,” he replied with one of his awkward little laughs. Oh, why did he always feel like such an idiot around Finn. It would be so much easier to impress the other if he wasn't constantly embarrassing himself! Finn just laughed it off though,

“Probably. I had fun with you here though,” he said and the smaller teenager just nodded and smiled back. Part of him was hoping that nothing would be awkward after all but a much bigger part expected Finn's next words.

“It would be cool if you didn't tell anyone about you sleeping over though, yeah? I just don't want anyone getting the wrong idea or anything,” he remarked and that was when Kurt noticed that the other male was slightly edgy and that he seemed to be avoiding looking at him.

Of course he didn't want anyone to know. Why on earth would he want anyone to know that he had woken up with McKinley High's resident gay boy in his arms. It wasn't even like they'd done anything but that wasn't what everyone else would think.

High School was a bitch.

And that was saying something seeing how Kurt didn't like swearing. It was uncouth after all.

He could practically feel himself deflating,

“Of course not. I had better get going if I want to get home and change before school starts. I'll see you later,” he agreed, slowly getting to his feet gracefully before he went to fetch his bag with a mumbled goodbye and thank you to both Finn and his mother.

He headed out without washing his face or anything he was in that much of a hurry to get home.

Why did the consequences of something completely innocent and friendly have to hurt so much?

*****

“What happened Kurt?”

Those were the first words out of Burt Hummel's mouth as his sixteen year old son stepped through the door, rumpled, slumped and looking completely miserable.

“Nothing Dad,” he answered, the that's the problem left unspoken.

“I know your Mother was a lot better at this sort of stuff then I was but you can still talk to me Kurt,” Burt informed his son as he stepped forward and dropped a gentle hand on the brunet's shoulder.

“I know but...I'm just going to get ready for school now but thank you,” Kurt mumbled in reply, before he moved out of his father's grasp and headed down to his basement bedroom in silence.

What on earth had happened around the Hudson's? Carole had called to tell him that Kurt had fell asleep over there but what wasn't Kurt telling him?

What had that boy of Carole's done to his son?

*****

Kurt managed to avoid Finn up until lunch time, the majority of Glee club had taken to sitting together and he wound up opposite the other. They had greeted each other quietly but after Kurt's abrupt departure that morning the pair were unsure around each other. Mercedes was glaring slightly at Finn and Tina had taken to trying to ignore Finn but she was too nice to ignore him when he spoke directly to her but she did tell him then that she didn't wish to talk to him. Finn had been confused over this, as had Artie who had yet to be informed but Rachel had decided to have a go at the other members of the Glee club over it.

“Is this really necessary? What has Finn done to you? Nothing, there is absolutely no point in you ignoring him, I find this needlessly rude. Honestly, I expected better,” she nagged. Her constant chatter was getting on Kurt's nerves, didn't that girl ever shut up? Wait, he knew the answer to that. No, she didn't.

“Don't worry Finn, I'm not going to start ignoring you, especially not if we're going to be going on a date on Wednesday. Oh it's going to be so perfect, I'm so glad that you're giving me a chance now that you and Quinn are over...”

Slam.

Kurt had slammed his tray back down on the table and had stood up, he rested his hands on the table on either side of his tray as he leaned in slightly to glower at Rachel.

“Do you ever shut up? We've had enough of your discordant little voice for one day. So if you wouldn't mind,” he snapped, his tone as derogatory as could make it before he turned on his heel and stormed out of the cafeteria.

Usually he wouldn't let himself get that way, it didn't help to have a go at anyone in public but Rachel had been grating on his last nerve. He'd had enough of her so that when she had mentioned that she and Finn would be going on a date...he'd just snapped. It had been as if he'd asked her out and only that day, what so Kurt's feelings didn't matter anymore?

Just because nothing had happened between them the night before didn't mean that it gave Finn an excuse to rush into asking Rachel out when he knew that he'd upset Kurt that morning.

He was fighting back the tears as he held his head high as he rushed to the auditorium where he could alone for a while. He didn't know if he wanted to be around anyone just then.

“Kurt,” a familiar female voice called from behind him and the brunet stopped to see Mercedes and Tina both jog to catch him up, his two female friends both smiling sadly at him.

It had only been recently that he'd came out to Tina and had admitted to them both that he was in love with Finn and if he was honest, he hadn't even meant too. They'd been over Mercedes watching films and having a few drinks and well, he wasn't the best at holding his alcohol and he'd ended up spilling everything to the two girls. Since then they'd been his confidantes to talk to when he had a problem that involved Finn and of course they were always on his side.

And from the looks they were shooting each other and him they obviously had a plan.

“Okay what are you two up to? I really don't want to have to deal with much right now,” he asked with a sigh, placing a hand on his hip as he raised an eyebrow at the two teenage girls wearing identical evil grins.

“Well we've been cooking something up all day and now we think Wednesday is the perfect time to perform it hon,” Mercedes started before she nodded at Tina to carry on. Since Tina had admitted to not having a stutter she never spoke with one anymore and in some ways seemed more confident the few times she did speak up.

“In Glee this week we'll all just be working on our duets right? Well we spoke to Mr Schue earlier on and he said it was alright for you to perform something to the group during one of the the practices next week and I know the perfect song for you to get your feelings across to Finn,” she explained and okay, that did intrigue Kurt.

“Okay then, tell me all girls,” he responded as he linked his arms with the two girl's and led them off to the auditorium.

Finn Hudson wouldn't know what hit him.

*****

The weekend and the early days of the next week went quickly for Kurt, when he wasn't in school or doing he was perfecting the performance that Tina and Mercedes had convinced him to perform. It was different to what he'd usually listen to, very different actually but he supposed the lyrics went well with his current situation. He'd also been having trouble deciding what to wear, he wanted something to change into just for the performance...some sort of a surprise. He had came up with the perfect costume in the end though so now he was walking down the empty school, boots heavily clumping against the the floor and when he arrived at the choir room he stopped and knocked on the door.

It was his signal for the music to be started.

There was no need to be nervous, he'd worn a corset to school once before, a boy scout uniform was nothing compared to that.

He took a deep breath and opened the door, slipping inside and shutting the door behind him with his foot as he started to sing,

“I got a lot to say to you
Yeah I got a lot to say,
I noticed your eyes are always glued to me,
Keeping them here and it makes no sense at all.”

He slowly sauntered to the middle of the room, eyes locking onto Finn's as he did so.

“They taped over your mouth,
Scribbled out the truth with their lies
Your little spies.
They taped over your mouth,
Scribbled out the truth with their lies,
Your little spies.”

The movements were rather simple, he simply moved about the room, slightly shaking his hips as he did so and eyes only leaving Finn's to shoot Rachel a mocking look on the little spies line.

“Crush...Crush...Crush...
Crush, crush...” he sung, Tina joining in with the countdown for her seat.

Finn couldn't take his eyes of the smaller brunet, okay the female character in that film in a girl scout uniform? Completely unsexy. Kurt in a boy scout uniform singing to him and oh fuck, coming over to him? A total turn on.

Holy shit...mail man, mail man, mail man!

The performing boy smirked slightly at Finn, showing himself to be more confident then he was actually feeling when he settled himself in Finn's lap for the chorus,

“Nothing compares to a quiet evening alone,
Just the one two of us is counting on,
That never happens, I guess I'm dreaming again,
Let's be more than this.”

He ran his fingers up and down the others chest, counting the one, two with gentle taps of his perfectly manicured nails, slithering off Finn's lap, he watched the other male gulp but he didn't seem disgusted. In fact, it was quite the opposite actually.

“If you wanna play it like a game
Well come on, come on let's play...” he continued but that was when the music was suddenly cut off.

“Okay then Kurt...I think that's enough of that very...interesting performance,” Mr Schue called out from his place by the CD player. Obviously the girls hadn't informed him what the performance would consist of all.

The whole of the club apart from Mercedes and Tina were staring at him in pure shock and Kurt felt the nerves settling in his stomach again.

What had he just done in front of the whole club?

The fact that Finn had actually been interested skipped his mind for a few moments as he tried to stand tall, he shouldn't care what they thought. But what if it got around the school and someone called his dad again.

Oh god, he should have thought this through more.

Even through this inner turmoil though his face didn't fall, his gaze didn't drop from Finn's. That is until the majority of the room started to clap. Tearing his eyes away he looked around and a smile grew on his lips, he bowed slightly to his friends.

Well most of his friends. The only one's who weren't clapping were Puck, who looked disturbed and slightly disgusted and Rachel who was glaring daggers at him.

The brunette female had been surprised by Kurt, she knew that he could be sneaky and that bitchy was a very definitive word in his vocabulary but she'd never thought he would stoop so low. The makeover he'd given her when Finn had still been Quinn had been one thing but this was completely different. She and Finn were due to be going on a date after all. They may not have been going out and okay, she may have asked him but he still had accepted and yet now, all of a sudden he was showing interest for the gay kid. It was unfair!

“Mr Schuester that was disgraceful. I cannot let you believe you allowed him to do that, if anyone had seen that or he had performed that on stage what would people think of us? I believe that it would give our Glee club a bad name...” she ranted as she stood up but Mercedes soon shot her down with a glare.

“Oh shut it white girl! If your choreography for Push It was acceptable then so was Kurt's performance today.”

That did shut Rachel up because as much as she loathed to admit it, Kurt's choreography hadn't been too sordid, it had been no worse then what she had came up with for Push It.

She just hated the fact that all Finn's attention had been on someone other then her, someone she had believed would never have a chance with the quarterback.

If she'd had known what had been going through Finn's head though she may have been even angrier then she already was though as she grabbed her bag and stormed out of the room.

Finn was confused, yeah, he knew he'd been attracted to Kurt lately and some of his dreams may have been rather dirty but Kurt had never actually initiated anything in real life before. He didn't know how to react and it was awkward with everyone around. If they had been alone then he'd have pinned the smaller boy to the ground by then and would be having his way with the other for teasing him.

How he would end up reacting afterward he still had no idea but he knew that he would probably be shocked and would end up running away from the other. Everything was still so new to him

Not to mention Kurt's choice of song, it was completely, well unexpected. As far as Finn knew the boy liked poppy R'n'B stuff and show tunes but he'd just done a popular rock song but the lyrics had really gotten to Finn. They'd been picked for a reason, to remind Finn of their little sleepover. He'd realised that Kurt had been upset at being told he couldn't tell anything when it had been a completely innocent sleepover.

Wow, thinking back on it, he had come off as a bit of a dick.

The truth was he didn't feel ready to come to terms with such things, he didn't get how after years of wanting girls he could have suddenly started to notice Kurt and it was even more difficult when the boy actually had a crush on him. The only reason he'd agreed to go on that date with Rachel was to see if it would be as good as that night in with Kurt had been.

Now Kurt had only gone and made things more difficult by showing his interest in front of everyone and pissing Rachel off.

But as he turned to look at Kurt their eyes met and he couldn't help but feel that, maybe that didn't matter for now. There was no harm in trying to get to know the other better, there may not be any harm if they tried out kissing.

Finn just wanted to know what was happening to him and well, he wanted to find out with Kurt.

Maybe they could even do it through their duet.
