After Samantha's disappearance Mulder became obsessed with lights in the sky. Every night he would watch out of his bedroom window trying to decipher which lights were stars and which could be lights from alien ships.
“It's just an aeroplane” his mother would sigh at the sight of him running outside with his binoculars.
He knew that they weren't though.
He knew that at least one of those lights in the sky would hold the key to Samantha's disappearance. One day he'd find his light, one day he'd run outside with his binoculars and it wouldn't be an aeroplane.
