when i was at my grandparents' house the other day my grandma was looking through a family tree book to find the year her dad died - some family debate - and she started to look through at other things and she looked up at me and said, "if you ever have a girl you should name her Penelope."

this moment seemed significant to me. i'd never thought to name my baby girl Penelope but i've been considering it since grandma said something.

i looked it up. it's greek for "duck" hmmm....
