Today was a really great day.
Christy and Tom picked me up and we first went to Ashley's shindig at Spring Lake, which was cool. Alex, Meridith, Tara, and later Mr. Nathan were there. We all went swimming, which was wicked fun. Tom kept diving under water and scaring the crap out of Christy. Mr. Nathan kept kicking me. We made fun of the fat lifeguard. Nothing against fat lifeguards...
We played a scary game at Ashley's. Well, it was really only scary for me. We all stood in front of chairs and the chairs had balloons on them and when the dj said "go" we had to sit really fast and try to be the first to pop the balloon.
I hate the sound of popping balloons. Last week, my cousin chased me around the house with a balloon and a fork. Anyway, as soon as he said "go," I heard the loud popping and freaked out and screamed and covered my ears and just stood there.
Then we stopped at Tom's so he and Christy could get a tent, which apparently they are sharing with Mr. Nathan, and it was off to Scott's.
We chilled inside for a while. I met Tom's girlfriend, who seems really cool. Tom introduced me as the "amazing artist" or something like that, which made me really happy. Then Dan said I smelled so I shoved him and almost knocked him into the band equipment. Score one for Linds.
It was really great to see all these people who I may not see for a long time. Jeremy made me laugh, I talked with Becca for a while, went swimming with everybody. Kyle did a massive jumping bellyflop off the deck rail. Ouch.
Food was great. I love Scott's parents. His mom put my shirt in the dryer cause it was all wet from my bathing suit and made me look like I was lactating. I wore one of Jeremy's shirts for a while after that. I felt like a frat girl.
Shuman and I planned our lives at RIC.
Ashley Perkins was there, too. I was happy cause I haven't seen her in a while. Dan Joubert talked to me for a bit which was cool. He's a good kid.
They're ALL good kids.
The band was great. They did a phenomenal job. I especially loved "American Girl." And "Hey Yah." T White, you rock.
Nick came around 9:00, a whole hour earlier than I expected, which made me wicked happy cause I missed him. We spent some time in the pool, then mingled. I ate. A lot. Nick did tricks. And we hugged each other. Then came one of the best parts of the night: the massage train. Which turned into Nick-and-Jeremy-massaging-Linds's-feet. Nick and I left around 11:30. I miss him a lot, now.
I am so glad I got to see everyone, tonight. I was talking to my aunt and cousin last week at our family party about our classes. Chris was talking about the many cliques in his class. I told him we really didn't have cliques, which he and my aunt Jan found downright outrageous. The thing is, I always think of the word "clique" as having a negative connotation. And yes, we may have groups of people we associate with more than others. But as a whole, we are a very open, connected class. We love each other and we can spend time with anyone else in our class and be comfortable.
The summer of 2005 has indeed been a good one.
Remember to visit Thorpe G53 often, guys.
I love you.
