Wow, I finally remember a dream. I'm pretty sure it's New Orleans inspired. We were on vacation and there was a warning that a huge storm was heading in our direction. We were planning to leave that day and go back home, but it seemed like we'd better put that off. I started working around the house, trying to set up a room in which we'd be safe and would be able to survive if we got stuck for a few days. For some reason apparently I was looking over lytarules' kid (why do I babysit on your kids in my dreams?). The storm that passes is beyond huge. Everything seems to be wiped from the Earth and when the storm has passed there is only total anarchy. However, for some reason I seem to realise that splash_the_cat's kid is still out there and completely on her own so I need to get the kid and bring it safely to my house. Apparently I'm an idiot and I decide this will be a fast trip and it'd be safer if I leave the kid I already have with me alone and go get the other kid really fast.

I move out (note that for some reason this whole world is actually set inside this huge caverns) and of course, I realise how stupid the plan was. There are bands of people everywhere trying to get food and water and I happen to walk into the path of one of those bands. The capture me and lock me up for years (positive note, they lock me up with Julie's kid but in the meantime Lyta's kid is all on his own and I want to get back to him). When they finally decide that I have been punished enough to try and steal from them, they release me and seem to think I'm pretty cool actually. They agree to take care of the girl while I go looking for Lyta's kid. Only, the area I left him in is in control of a Masai tribe who don't take too fondly to trespassers. I don't care, I have left the kid there for years and I need to find out if he's still alive. I make it back and get ambushed by the Masai. They seem pretty cool with wanting to kill me and it's only when I start asking for the kid that they back off. They apparently found him and adopted him, they take me back to their camp and there he is in one piece, alive and well and thinking he's a Masai.

And then I woke up.

Some of you might have heard of the idiots who live across the street. They're a family of horrible parents with none to bright kids who like getting pets and starving them to death so the pets end up eating at our house. Anyway, years ago when they came to live here, our neighbour decided to tell that family some lies about us. So for some reason, without having ever exchanged a word with these people (except a 'no that's not my cat' when I came home from school and she merrily asked me if the dead cat in the gutter was mine) they hate us. And I mean hate. Up to a point where those kids think it's pretty cool to throw stones at your house and swear at you every time you pass by (and you try not to take it out on them because they can't help being stupid and I mean that in the literal way because these kids are DUMB).

Anyway, the point of my story. My mom leaves the house this morning and there's a guy from FedEx trying to deliver a package to above mentioned lovely family. Only, they're not home so he asks my mom if he can give it to her. My mom, being the nice christian woman who she is, of course accepts. Now we've got their package here and it's so tempting to just keep the package and never give it to them like they undoubtedly have done with wrong delivered mail for us. But we won't do that. No, we're nice people contrary to their believe and while my mom says she won't go over there and ring at the door, I'm sure she'll catch up with them later today and give the package to them. I highly doubt it will make them change their opinion, though. Maybe they'll think we opened it anyway.

I would also like to mention for the record that while I understand that evacuation thousands of people with their pets is probably a pain in the ass, I think they should let these people take their pets with them anyway. Can you imagine losing everything and then being asked to leave your pet behind to DIE? Pets are like family, these people probably have lost a lot of dear ones already. I know it will be a pain in the ass to take care of all these pets, but haven't they lost enough?
