I don't understand why this disturbs me so much, but Allison posted a link for testing your knowledge of kanji, hiragana and katakana. Well, I went to the hirigana. I knew I was rusty. I start it...and I suddenly realized, I didn't remember crap about the symbols and what sounds matched up with them! And for some reason it really made me feel sad, and disturbed me.
So now I'm thinking I'm gonna make flashcards and put'em on a ring and study. I feel like I need to redeem myself a bit.
On a different note, my teeth really really hurt. Went to the dentist, found out my remaining wisdom teeth (the area around them and in the gum line) is infected. It happens. That was Monday. Since about then, I haven't actually been able to shut my mouth all the way, teeth getting in the way and all. I didn't give it much thought. I checked my tooth (the one I can see) earlier today (okay so technically yesterday), and realized another thing, both of my wisdom teeth are actually, finally trying to come in. Bad bad bad. I don't have room for them, so my jaw cannot close. Totally makes eating hard when you become completely unable to chew. Thankfully McD's has soft, and easy to break up and eat burgers, and I get free pasta from work. Little to no chewing involved in either, just slow.
With my lack of insurance, and the work that needs to be done, minus the cost of the removal of my remaining wisdom teeth, I'm looking at anywhere from $300 to $1,000. Since my dentist isn't able to remove the teeth, which would normally cost...oh...a little over $100, I have to go to an oral surgeon, to have them removed. My guess, is it'll cost roughly the same as getting a root canal, so $800 a tooth or so. So total cost, possibly $3000. Oh yeah, this is going to suck.
