The fact that PowerPoint allows you to use a different slide template for each slide does not mean that you should use a different template for each slide.
For purposes of this rant, I include slide/template ratios below 10. I just finished reviewing a student project from an about to graduate engineering student which contained 58 slides and 21 templates. And since he had several title slides, and many of the templates he used had different background for titles vs. regular slides, there were 27 different backgrounds for his 58 slides.
At least he used the same font for everything.
