The Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case was, quite possibly, inevitable. After all, there were two things we knew going it. The first was that the majority of the Supreme Court is old white guys, most of whom are Very Conservative. The second was that this issue is (although it shouldn't be) seen as a collision of religious beliefs.

I completely agree with you, as usual! I myself received a notice yesterday that my employer, a non-profit organization with Christian ties, had opted out of the ACA mandate to provide free contraception coverage with my insurance and I was on my own to cover those costs, including but not limited to oral contraceptives and IUDs. As a woman who takes oral contraceptives for a medical condition (PCOS) and reason other than simply prevention of pregnancy, I absolutely feel like my gender has just received a massive trampling over. Even more upsetting are the thousands of people who believe oral contraception and IUDs are actually abortive agents; I wish I could just take them all back to high school biology for a minute to refresh the science behind how a fetus is created. Possibly the most ironic thing here of all is that I actually am a Christian, myself! Ugh. But yes, Hobby Lobby has no religious belief. And as you already pointed out with your example of blood transfusions, what precedent did we just set? I can see FSM having a ( ... )
