So I gots a little bit of time, maybe I'll do a little updateage....
This semester is kicking my ass to the max. I took on five classes this semester, one of them being a six credit course. I ended up dropping one of them yesterday becuase I couldn't handle everything. I'm sad, but it's also a relief. I'm so overwhelmed with school work, but really from only two classes. My View Camera class and my advanced digital photo class. I have the same professor for both of them and he's a bit intense. But, not in a bad way, intense in a way that it will help me later on in life. A good for me intense. He's a really cool guy too, really sarcastic, extremely smart and well read, and has a lot of useful things to say about my work during crits, and my class is actually very helpful as well, we're a small class so basically all of us have no problem talking about each other's work. I have two big semester projects that I'm working on right now, one is a mugshot series and the other is dealing with text, landscape, people and realating them altogether into one cohesive series. It's a really hard thing to tackle there are so many factors to think about, this project will probably last till the end of the year or longer. Luckily after view camera I'll be able to just basically work on building a porfolio, aka i can do what I want. I'm just hoping I get to a really good place by the end of the semester. And the mugshots are about facing your flaws and being ok with it. I put it into a mugshot format becuase most people don't want to admit they've been arrested or have gone to jail. Being arrested is something most people want to keep on the DL, so in the mugshots instead of having an arrest number I have a flaw that the person I'm taking a photograph of picks out about themselves. It can be physical, mental, or an emotional flaw. By the end of the semester I want to have around 50 people from different age groups and ethnicities and I want to put them all into a book. I'll post some of them later on in the semester once I have the format of the mugshots down. Oh and I'd love to have volunteers for the mugshots....
I'm loving the large format camera, having 4x5 inch negative to print from gives you incredible detail. I think I'm always going to shoot either 6x7 or 4x5, i like how the format is almost a square but not, i love 6x6 but I don't want to see all of my photos in a square format.
I really haven't been up to much besides school, a few parites here and there and I'm working as a monitor in the photo department.
I got my wisdom teeth out, not a big deal everyting went smoothly.
My great aunt is back home from the nursing home she was staying at while she healed and went through physical therapy, she's doing well.
alright that's my life right now.
