metaphorically speaking...

i like roller coasters. who doesn't? but the older i get the more i like the subtle rises, the turns and even the part where you slowly clink to the top, excitedly waiting with the anticipation of the ride ahead. i'm realizing that i don't like the corkscrews, the loops and the sudden drop-outs so much. they're fun but they take you through this awkward cycle of terror, then good ol' regular fear,then fun then a feeling of, " that was it??? " to me, loops aren't bad or good, instead they're good, then bad. your cart goes rolling on through the loop and everything is fine again. your stomach feels as though it's in the right place, your hands release their firm grip and your eyes once again open to see the world, right side up, in it's normal and natural state. and it's good.

i just went through one of those loops.

in other news...i sat in the driver's seat of a fire engine today. it made my life. i will marry a fireman.
