Push me a little bit more
They had been practising for weeks, going to all of the classes and learning the different preparations. They weren’t however, prepared for this. There was still two weeks left until the due date and although Jin was a little on edge, he thought it would be safe to go to work. Kazuya was a little unwell and had back pains during the weekend but she assured her lover that she would be fine and that he should go to work.
Although Jin was a little uneasy at first, as the day went on he became engrossed in his work and almost completely forgot about his pregnant girlfriend. The receptionist knocked lightly on his cubicle and he frowned at her whilst talking to a customer on the phone.
“Akanishi-san, there’s a phone call for you. It’s your mother. She said it’s urgent” Jin dismissed the receptionist and when he was finished talking to the customer he changed the line to hear his mother.
“What’s up?” He was met with a series of shrieks and screaming, he recognised the voice as Kazuya immediately and bolted out of his seat.
“Jin, we’re at the hospital, Kazuya is in labour right now. The doctor says she is quite far in dilation so you better get here quickly” Jin couldn’t make sense of anything else his mother said after that. Kazuya was in labour. His Kazuya was going to give birth. He hung up on his mother and quickly gathered his things, making a mess in the process and taking longer than normal. His co-workers were looking in on him with interest and he only squeaked in response to the questions. When he finally managed to get his suit jacket on he sped out of his work space and down the long corridor, everyone’s eyes on him.
Not that he cared; he was so intent on reaching the hospital in time. He fumbled with his keys trying to find the right one when he tripped over his own feet and ended up sprawled on the floor, desperately scrambling to get up. Finally his co-worker took pity on him and picked up the keys whilst the others helped him up.
“There’s no way you’re driving in that state Bakanishi, I take it your girlfriend is in labour then? I’ll drive you” Jin almost refused as he saw who was offering. Nishikido was well known for his poison tongue and Jin really didn’t like being left alone with him, nevertheless he nodded and the two sped out of the building to Jin’s car.
The entire car trip was silent with only the sounds of Jin tapping impatiently filling the car. Nishikido was steadily losing his patience as Jin just kept on tapping but he tried his best to not snap at the irate man. With only five more minutes until they got to the hospital they hit a traffic jam, Jin almost screamed in frustration. He yanked open the door and sprinted to the hospital: completely ignoring the now open door and Ryo shouting after him.
As he sped along the streets many people were shouting after him: scolding him for bumping into them, but he continued on not minding the insults. By the time he got to the hospital he could barely breathe and the hospital receptionist looked at him in alarm as she signalled a doctor. However he held a hand up to the offer for a wheelchair. He panted Kazuya’s name to the woman but she couldn’t understand him, he forced himself to calm down and repeated the name. She still looked confused but her co-worker squealed and ushered him towards the delivery room.
“We were afraid you wouldn’t be able to make it, it seems your girlfriend has been in labour since yesterday but she just didn’t notice. The doctors are prepping her for delivery right now” They reached a room and the nurse handed Jin a blue gown which he quickly put on although a little haphazardly. The nurse took pity on him and rearranged the garment and then took him into a brightly lit waiting room. His mother sprang up from her seat and rushed forward to hug him.
“Oh Jin thank goodness you’re here, Kazuya is in the delivery room with her mother, the doctors said she could start giving birth any moment” Jin was growing ever more nervous as the nurse separated them and lightly pushed him into the delivery room. He could hear Kazuya groaning and the doctors around her trying to calm her down. Jin felt sick; now that he had calmed down and the adrenaline was gone he was terrified. Before he could stew in his nerves however Kazuya saw him and started screaming at him. Immediately Jin was by her side, she was crying and obviously in the midst of a panic attack. On her other side Kazuya’s mother was trying to soothe the hysterical woman and Jin couldn’t help the chuckles that escaped him.
“What the fuck are you laughing at you big idiot? You think this is funny? I’ll fucking shove a hedgehog up your ass then we’ll see who’s laughing you stupid -” She broke off into a groan of pain and Jin stroked her hair, he winced at the tight hold she had on his hand but ignored it as she started crying again.
“Kazu, it’s okay sweetheart, don’t worry -” She glared at him with a look full of hate and she snarled at his attempts to comfort her.
“You tell me not to worry? You fucking moron it hurts!” Jin winced again as she broke off into another groan. The doctors were busying themselves with the preparation as they still had not begun birthing the child. Kazuya’s mother was scolding the doctor’s for being so slow and finally everything was ready. As the doctor was explaining the procedure to the three of them Kazuya started screaming, immediately there was a flourish of activity and noise.
“Kamenashi-san you’ll have to push” Kazuya couldn’t even swear at the doctor because she was in so much pain. Jin tried his hardest not to panic and to calm his lover down however it was difficult as he himself was feeling a little peeved off at the doctors. Eventually Kazuya began pushing and the room was filled with screams of pain, both Kazuya’s and Jin’s.
Five hours later Kazuya was on her bed, completely exhausted but watching contently as Jin cooed over their new baby. The birth was long and extremely painful and Jin was sure he would never stop having nightmares about it. He had always thought that Kazuya was gentle and calm and loving, but what he saw was a monster being unleashed.
However it was all worth it. Now they had their baby girl and tomorrow once Kazuya was rested they would be able to show her off to their friends. Jin looked up from their baby and smiled softly at Kazuya, she was most definitely looking her worst but still she had that unearthly beauty that only she possessed. He settled himself on the bed, lying opposite her as she watched him in slight amusement. Hooking an arm around her waist they snuggled closer into each other and basked in each other’s warmth.
“Well done love” Jin’s voice was husky and cracked slightly and Kazuya giggled, realising her boyfriend was crying. She softly pressed her lips against his, pulling back to gaze lovingly at him.
“I love you” Jin grinned widely at the declaration and Kazuya blushed slightly. Although they had been dating for so long neither of them had declared their love. The unexpected pregnancy was a true blessing as neither of them had the courage to say just what they feel. Jin was about to lean forward and kiss Kazuya when they were interrupted by a loud cry. Jin groaned whilst Kazuya giggled cutely.
“Best get used to that” She managed a cheeky grin as she nudged Jin to attend to their daughter.
