It's Kloh-sterman, apparently

I went to see Chuck Klosterman speak in Harvard Square last night with wldrpretnd. Mr. Klosterman inspired the title of my livejournal with his book of essays, Sex, Drugs, and Coco Puffs. I know that rockmarooned and slightlyoffaxis hate Chuckie K, so they would have appreciated the kid who prefaced his question by saying that he both loved and hated Klosterman's writing. Chuck said he thought it was odd that someone would pay to hear a reading by someone they hated. Jesse would have also appreciated that Chuck read an essay about the value of having an arch enemy and a nemesis because I know he has one. We didn't stay for the book signing, mainly because we didn't want to pay 30 bucks or whatever for the hardcover. I think Chuck might have been interested in hearing about my weekend, though. Ben agreed that it was Klosterman-esque since it involved a Journey concert* among other bizarre things. Instead, we opted to watch U2 and Green Day on Monday Night Football at the re-opened New Orleans SuperDome. The commentators' over-the-top and rehearsed statements about "emotion" and "resliency" were enough to make you queesy, but I got a few chills during "Beautiful Day." ("After the flood all the colors came out...") And Bono's new buzzed haircut is hot!

*Mar, I thought of you when they played "Separate Ways" and "Any Way You Want It."
