At first, I was shocked about the results of American Idol. But now that I think about it, they had to have David Cook win to retain some of the show's credibility. David Archuleta is not going to have a successful pop career, and he mainly appealed to young girls. Anyway, I didn't really care about the results, but it was fun to watch the show with some friends. Sadly, Sara couldn't come because she had to work!
The rest of my night was kind of frustrating, though. I went back to see the condo that I really liked the other night with my parents and my aunt and uncle. He's an architect, so he can look at practical things. I was expecting them to be really enthusiastic, but they didn’t really like it. Basically, they just thought the living room was too small. And, actually, it is pretty small. It would probably be fine if I lived there on my own, but I’d need a roommate, so it would be kind of cramped if the roommate and I and friends were all in the living room. There's a bit of wall that I could knock down to make it bigger, but that would cost money. But everything else about it is great! All they did was focus on the one negative. And my parents were late getting there... And then we all went to see another place, which I didn’t like at all and was $50,000 more. I am concerned that I'm not going to find anything else that I like that's in my price range. I asked my mortgage lender what my range would be like without a roommate (getting a one-bedroom), but there's pretty much nothing in that range that I can afford. Damn editor's salary.... Really, my only hope is inheriting money, as harsh as that sounds.
Sooo.... I dunno. It kind of sucks. I really wanted them to like the place as much as I did. It's not perfect with the small living room and some wasted space, but I like a lot of things about it. There aren't that many options out there for me right now, so instead of rushing into something that has flaws, I guess I should wait. Gah. I just worry that I'm not going to like anything else as much.
