Where I've Been the last few weeks and a Re-Animator Marathon. XD
Yep. Figured I'd marathon the Re-Animator movie while I catch up on my rest, since I pulled 12 hour work days all last week.
Last week my theatre group did a production of Footloose. The ages included 5th graders to 9th graders, and they worked after school from 4:30-9:00 for five days before the shows on Saturday and Sunday.
Our director called me and asked if I'd work backstage, as our sets are all wood and she was concerned about the kids moving them and getting hurt. I happily accepted, and the kids put on a great show without anyone getting injured...except me.
But I'm a techie, I get hurt so they don't have to! :)
I absolutely adore those kids, and at the end of the last show they pulled me onstage and gave me a bouquet of flowers. :'3 I just about cried.
So my little reward for doing a nice thing was to go out and buy Beyond Re-Animator. Now I've got all three, which meant MARATHON TIME! ~
I was home sick with a cold on Thursday, so I watched them. :)
My thoughts on Re-Animator:
-Jeffrey Combs was really tiny. O__o
-Bruce Abbot has the prettiest eyes.
-I wish David Gale was still alive.
-Herbert smiles in the movie a lot more than I think we think he does.
-Meg looks just like my sister.
-Dan really doesn't have a clue about much of anything.
-Meg Halsey and Katherine McMicheals are sisters. Katherine is the fussy older sister, and Meg is the popular younger one. I reject your reality and subsitute my own.
-Herbert's book of "Surgical Errors and Mistakes" is hilarious.
-Hill should just keep it in his pants.
-Despite the cameraman's effort to not get any full frontal nudity in that ending zombie battle, some of it was still there.
-I feel bad for Dan.
-Sorry Richard Band, but that's totally the Psycho theme. I love your's, but you have to acknowledge the similarity.
My thoughts on Bride of Re-Animator
-BRUCE ABBOTT GET IN MY BED.
-Herbert was the king of badassery in Peru.
-"Let's go home". But yeah, we should totally stop for McDonalds or something on the way there.
-Jeffrey Combs' comedic mannerisms are to die for.
-Oh look! It's VENGEFUL FAT POLICE GUY!
-Body parts? Who would want to steal body parts?! XD
-Herbert West is just too cool for school. Sneaking out that dead body in a wheel chair? What a smooth criminal! :D
-A wild skank appears~!
-Why on earth would you bring a dog on a date?!
-Dan don't sleep with that it might have disease.
-That is some fantasmic special effects makeup.
-Looks like Hill's back...and he's absolutely terrifying. XD
-Oh look a mysterious unmarked box is on my doorstep, I better open it and bring it inside. CX
-Suddenly! zombies.
-Wait did Dan just seriously pick the skank over their Bride?
-This Frankensteinian plotline is just the greatest.
-DAN! DON'T YOU WANT HER?!
-Herbert what is that face.
-What kind of funeral home doesn't have a cremeatorium? That would solve all of these body part problems.
-Dan did you just save the skank instead of Herbert?
-I have many questions....
My Thoughts on Beyond Re-Animator:
-This entire opening scene is hilariously bad. It's so stereotypical that I can't even handle it.
-Zombies!
-What do we do with strange syringes we find on the ground? Pick them up and carry them around for a decade or two. XD
-Herbert you are very disgruntled.
-Oh look it's the Dos Equis guy. This time he's the Most Disgusting Creeper in the World.
-Oh look another skank.
-Dr. Phillips is a pretty weak character.
-There is some humor in this, you just have to look harder to find it than you did in the other movies.
-DAN WHY WOULD YOU THROW HERBERT IN THIS TERRIBLE PLACE.
-Herbert's badassery is unstoppable.
(Didn't take any notes until the prison massacre happens. Got lazy.)
-Why are there so many characters in this film with hispanic accents? Some of them aren't even hispanic...
-This is just silly.
-Poor Howie.
-I don't think I can handle how badass Herbert West is right now.
-And we end the movie with Herbert's epic "FUCK THE POLICE!" moment of walking into the foggy night
-This was not as bad as I originally thought.
And those were my random out of place thoughts. XD
Now I'm going to go sleep. :)
