FIC: First Contacts part 2/?

Title: First Contacts
Fandom: ST: Deep Space Nine
Part: 2/? "Loneliness"
Pairing: Weyoun Six/Odo
Summary: Odo and Weyoun Six's first experiences with each other. Weyoun has been unusually quiet the last couple of days, and Odo wants to know why. Some heartfelt conversation and awkward Vorta/Founder adorableness
A/N: I know I said that the next chapter would be "Scorn", but I thought I should write a transition chapter leading into it because I thought it might seem strange for Odo to spontaneously let Weyoun actually go out on the station.

When there was nothing left to clean, no tasks to complete, and nothing new for Weyoun to do for days on end Odo had found that the Vorta would become disturbingly occupied in his own thoughts. This was something that the  Changeling didn't really mind, as he was out of the way, safe, and preoccupied, however when he noticed the Vorta hadn't moved from his spot on Odo's bed in two days he began to worry.

Six had a small notebook and pen in his lap as he stared out the window of Odo's room he would write in it. The small creature would fill it up within a few days, and soon enough Odo had gotten a small box for him to put them all in. Odo had always wanted to ask what he wrote, but thought it wasn't his business. Now his curiosity got the best of him, and upon entering his room after a long shift stood in front of the distracted Vorta.

Weyoun's features were relaxed as his violet eyes stared blankly up at his Founder. He looked tired and stiff from little movement the last few days.

"Hello Founder." he greeted simply, before glancing back out of the window again into the endless stars.

"Weyoun we need to talk." Odo stated simply. "I'm concerned about you."

At that statement Weyoun blushed lightly. "I'm honored", he responded smiling and scooting over so Odo could join him. The Changeling did so, and Weyoun casually leaned his head on the other's shoulder.

"Are you okay?" Odo asked outright.

Silence fell over the two, as the Vorta thought long and hard about his answer.

"...I have been thinking a lot lately." he admitted slowly,

"I've noticed." the Founder replied, gently reaching an arm around Weyoun's shoulders and pulling him closer. Weyoun settled against him, nuzzling his cheek against the others chest.

When had they become so casual? When had Weyoun stopped tensing at Odo's touch? When had Odo begun to affectionately touch him in the first place? It hadn't been long since Weyoun Six first came with him to the station, yet things had changed so much.

"What's haunting you so much that you feel the need to write about it all day?" Odo inquired, glancing down at Weyoun's dark hair.

Another long pause fell upon them, before Weyoun spoke again.

"Why am I like the way I am? What makes me defective? Am I defective, or is every other Vorta the ones who aren't in sound mind?"

"Is that all? Just questions about who you are?"

"...No. Lately it's about everything. What the station personnel are like. What they'd treat me like if they ever saw me. Sometimes I think about what it would be like to have friends or be around other people."

The awkward pause continued as Odo tried to process the information the Vorta had just given him.

"Today I was thinking about relationships. A relationship a parent has with a child, a lover has with their partner, a friend has with their companion. Relationships of all sorts." Weyoun said shyly, looking up at his Founder nervously.

Odo's blue eyes met his servant's, and they shared a moment of understanding. Weyoun was lonely, and loneliness was something that Odo certainly understood.

The Founder sighed, before gently patting Weyoun's dark hair. It was soft, and he felt the young Vorta relax instantly.

"It's not easy being an outcast." Odo spoke softly, running his fingers through the others hair repetitively.

"I know. I just don't understand why I feel the way I do about things. Did the Founders genetically engineer out my ability to do so?" he asked Odo, knowing that the other wouldn't know that answer.

"Vorta were not made to be liked. We were made to be the diplomats of the Dominion. We were programmed and taught to be likable, but we're never liked." Weyoun mused glancing out the window again.

"Weyoun have you ever considered that you are over-analyzing things?" Odo asked quietly. "Maybe you're reading too much into it. Maybe it's all simpler than your thinking it is."

At this the Vorta looked up at Odo angrily. Something was burning in those large violet eyes, something Odo had never seen. Weyoun had never before dared to disagree or go against his Founder in any way, but the defiance  in those eyes was clear.

"No." he said quietly, almost nervously before repeating it again much more confidently. "No, no I'm not. I'm not going to stop thinking about it! I finally have the freedom to think for myself after lifetimes of unrealized oppression! So I'm going to think!" he said firmly, raising his voice to a volume Odo had never heard before.

A silence hung in the air as Weyoun nervously looked at Odo, trying to say what had been racing through his head all along.

"Because...Because thinking is all I can do now."

Odo stared at him for a moment or two, before taking Weyoun's face in his hands looking into his eyes.

"Weyoun...you can do so much more than just sit here and think all day. You've got so much potential. So much intelligence."

"But is it mine? Or Weyoun's?" he whimpered. "Is it me who has potential? Or him?"

"What do you mean?" Odo asked, confused.

"Are these even my thoughts? My actions? Or are they all just mirrors of my predecessor? Am I only intelligent because he was?"

"Who?"

"Weyoun! The original Weyoun! The worst part of all these thoughts is that I don't know if they're even mine!"

Odo couldn't take his eyes off of the distraught man in front of him, and before he knew what he was doing he pulled Weyoun flush against him until they're noses were lightly brushing against each other.

He could feel Weyoun visibly stiffen, and a small whimper escaped his lips. A blush had crept its way across both of their faces and they both fell silent. They stayed like that for a moment, blushing quietly as their noses touched.

"I don't care about the original. I like you for you. The only reason I took you in was because I felt obligated to, but now that I've grown used to you, I realize you're completely different from any Vorta clone I've ever met. You're different from the rest. The same way I'm different from the other Changelings." Odo admitted shyly, nuzzling his nose against Weyoun's.

"You're special." he said softly. "And I feel bad when I see you so upset like this."

Weyoun whimpered again, unable to convey any of the feelings that were overcoming his senses. So he acted instead, pressing his forehead against Odo's breathing deeply as they relished in each other's presences.

"Odo?" Weyoun asked after a long pause. "Odo why are you so good to me?"

It was simple question, but an easily understood one. He had shown affections towards the Vorta these last few weeks, this he admitted. Even the other station personnel had noticed a significant change in his behavior when he talked about Six, and while they didn't like it they were able to get passed it.

"Well," he began, clearing his throat. "I, um, I care about you. A great deal. I want you to be happy here...with me."

Weyoun smiled at those words, and the befuddled blushing state of his master. In a bold gesture he wrapped his arms around his Founder's waist and buried his face in Odo's neck.

"Thank you Founder. I care a great deal about you as well." he mumbled, breathing in Odo's scent as he nuzzled into him further.

Odo was shocked by the boldness of this gesture, but welcomed it as he wrapped his arms around Weyoun's waist in a mutual hug.

"You're welcome Weyoun." he chuckled. "Do you feel better now that you talked about things?"

Weyoun looked up at him, noses brushing again as he nodded happily.

"It helped. However I still feel the restlessness I did before." he admitted.

"Perhaps I can work out an agreement with Sisko where you can go out among the other occupants of the station at certain hours. All this time stuck in one place is detrimental to your health." Odo agreed smiling, holding the other close.

"Really?"

"Are you doubting a Founder Weyoun?" Odo asked jokingly. Weyoun shook his head, beaming at him still.

"I wouldn't dare."

That's all folks! XD

The next chapter will be "Scorn", and it will be a bit more serious and kind of sad, but with some resolved cuteness towards the end (or not). After that there will be "Hurt", "Safety", "Love", "Touch". Eventually this story will earn an NC-17 rating, but right now it's pretty fuffy.
