the Kenshin sake thing: 2 more picpoems

Jun 01, 2008 23:30

To continue the theme and to get these out of my system, I offer two further Kenshin glimpses:  sake used a prop for a piece of taunting and the downfall due to the sake (I really need a more appropriate picture for this - big apologies to Gackt for stealing a bit of Crescent for Kenshin):

uhn, ho moon ar jie ka. jiet dho sei sei ha.
mm hai mm yuen yi, just hardly know chin ppl over net. thus hardly use chin ^^ my chin proficiency is quite low, which is a shame. can listen n speak but not write n read (reading often comes to guessing out of context) ^^
I've heard that there are alot of hakka ppl in UK more so than in NL. Anyway, no need to apologize.

On what do you base your poetry style on mostly? Western Chinese? wooo...I like Chin poetry (for so far I can understand and read..)

My poetry are close to none. ^^ really, just recently wrote some stuff and put it on LJ (so far..3 or 4). But comments are always welcome. hmm. that'd be neat, having a 'sparring' partner. ^^

Oh my..the emotions do come out of your poets. But, okay kinda rude me now. lei hai laam ding leu ar? My guess laam...excuse me if incorrect...^^
But anyway, leu yan hai kam shing..in chin=女人是感性的動物; 男人是理性的動物. So that might explain your basis for poetry. While I, on the one hand am too lazy to use my brain, emotions are important and often I find hard to express in words, thus see it as a way of challenge to put it in words; my basis are emotions.

My first photobook, For Dears, is great, I love looking through it while listening to the Mars cd. And love to buy more of his books, but I've decided not to as I want to go to Japan to see him live!!...well hope that works out well...
woah, in what way are connected to music? you sing? instruments? or you really are lyricists? ^^

My interest in cantopop kinda evaporated since my discovery in Jmusic. ofcourse there are still some good songs here and there, but all the new yuppy music from HK are just patooeh, think boyz, and shine? whatever.. Have had great experience with Nic's music so far, but he's focused on filming atm, which is a shame imo he kinda sucks in acting..>.> love to see the rebellious Nic on stage one time. My time in HK are usually filled with shopping :p and yeah that includes dvds vcds and cds. but less now due to stricter rules at dutch airport.
Jay Chou concert, that sounds nice! I like alot of his songs, but then again...there are alot of his songs that annoy the hell out of me cuz I can't hear what he's mumbling/rapping lol. David Tao, heard of him? he has a nice voice, AND is understandable. ^^
Double envie, you've seen 2 of the 4 kings live! And so close to your home too! ^^ I believe Leon was in Holland once, and that's about it. Oh yeah, this country sucks when it comes to fulfilling my fangirlish needs for C- and J-stuff. Boy how happy I was with my first own creditcard! ^^

Gonna friend you, if you don't mind. So I get to read your next poem when it's up ;)

Don't worry - my Chinese proficiency is pretty minimal too! So I've only read Chinese poetry in translation - but I like its simplicity and its reference to repeated themes (nature, seasons, friendship, age etc). I used to be nervous of repetition (sounds, themes, shapes) but Keats taught me to appreciate it and I now sometimes use it myself.

You ask about the source of my style. Hmm. I don't think my style is particularly derivative: I like to use simple language, but in an unusual way (either rhythmically or in unconventional combinations) and I must have some intellectual structure to the progress of idea in the poem - and a decent visual image or two and, preferably, a metaphorical or allegorical angle! Enough?

I'm pleased that you get an emotional response from some of my writing (I'm pleased because I'll be testing that a bit later!) but that's not how it is originated. My processes are very cerebral. I expect I'll wake up all square and grey one day and find that I've changed into a computer!

Hmm. Thanks for the Chinese old saw! However, I don't believe in the validity of gender difference much, although I'll admit it's a convenient excuse. In fact, my views are quite Gackt-ian: people are people, so - man or woman - all are capable of the same, both as subject and object.

As for me, - laam yan waak je lui yan?? Lei yiu gu ha! That's up to you to guess! Sorry - no clues, no confirmation. I'm just KK the human (for the moment - I expect the computer transformation will happen soon!)

Connected to music - yes. I play, write, sing, watch, listen, enjoy, imagine - all that!

I know what you mean about the boring-ness and Western-aping-ness (er - means just copy any style which sells big time in the West) of the Cantopop scene in the last 2/3 years. "the rebellious Nic"?? Excuse me - it's "daddy Nic" now so I think that the rebel has long gone!

Yes, I do know David Tao (call him Tao Gat Gat cos I dunno his last character!) - and I like some of his music (even though he sings in putongwa); he has recorded one version of a Christian hymn which I like very much indeed. However, I bought his last album in HK and it was a bit disappointing - nothing memorable (not compared to Gackt-o anyway!)

As for the kings, I saw Kwok Fu Shing (Aaron) in HK last Dec too cos he was the guest artist for Jay Chou! In 06, I saw Hui Chi On (Andy) live as well - he is a really nice vocalist but his arrangements and band are not as good - IMO - as Eason's or Nic's or Jacky C's; I was sitting right by the band in HK Stadium so I could SEE how not good they were! The guest artist for Andy Hui was Kelly Chen; I like her too.

Of course I dun mind if you wanna friend me BUT, your reason is a bit of a challenge ha ha so - siu sam!

short here: I've guessed. but time will tell. But I'm pretty sure I'm right.
now, not to start a battle of the sexes here or something. I do agree with you, but eventually it's man=man woman=woman.
Tao Chit = kinda
i like the rebel nic. and haven't seen too much of daddy nic, perhaps another transformation later. but sticking to his rebellious era. ah enough about chinese singers. This mind is now set on Gackt. ^^;

Hmm. Must blow the cobwebs off my memory - for some reason 女人是感性的動物; 男人是理性的動物 seems like English even when it's written in Chinese. You've got me thinking now!
