I'm not one to waste a public holiday so happily joined in the party mood with friends. I made a pudding with a wonky crown decoration of ginger biscuit crumbs and a red, white and blue jelly bean border (but the blue colouring was very aggressive and quickly attacked the poor pink pudding!):

Ah, yes - I'd forgotten your mat fetish! These lovely old aeroplane mats are new; I picked 'em up on my travels to the Far East (Suffolk/Norfolk ha ha) last month. They came from here:

The Shuttleworth museum is a great place - it's on Old Warden airfield which is next to Cardington where they still have two weird and massive hangars built for airships:
