'twas the night before Christmas...

...and Alex was coming home! :D

Okay, he's not here yet, but I'm excited. The one and only thing I want for Christmas, it's being shipped to Natick at the moment. I feel like I should have one of those UPS trackers for this present. "Oh look! My package is in Atlanta, Georgia right now! Oh, it'll be in Boston at 7pm!" I feel like that would be nice.

This Christmas and winter season has been a hectic one, I think. My dad's birthday was kind of out of place and rushed. I only got around to making a cake with my mom two days after his birthday >.< And we never got a card because no one had the time. Okay, maybe I had some time, but it slipped my mind >.<

And then Christmas. Well, I didn't exactly go Christmas shopping much at all. My family picked out their gifts, bought it, and I paid them back and wrapped it (or just my dad's anyway, Tyler and mom wrapped  their own gifts >.< ) and there's no stockings this year, which is okay. I miss the lights and the stockings and the seasonal atmosphere, but this year, it's just been out of place. Weird. Hectic. Rushed. There's only like 5 gifts under the tree. I already know what mine are, mostly because I picked them up and my parents paid for them in front of me. Well, then again, there's only 3 books under the tree for me and that's it. And the rest of the gift money went to Remi and Oliver and their needs. So basically... my presents were mostly gerbils and their needs. It's fine. They're lots of fun...when they're not trying to rearrange their tank and wake me up in the process.

And then this Christmas Alex (the older brother, not the boy) won't be here. He and Juli flew to Hawaii this morning to attend a wedding for one of Juli's friends from Japan. It must be so nice to get married in Hawaii, but soooo much money in travel and hotel costs. I hope they have lots of fun, but it'll be weird not having Alex home on Christmas, a first time ever, since he usually sleeps over the night before, Christmas eve, so he can wake up and do gift exchange or present opening with us.

I must say, last minute Christmas shoppers are pretty mean, rude, and crazy. Or at least from what I've seen in the traffic and at Kohls. Crazy, crazy people. The desperation is clearly written all over their faces like freshly chalked lines on a field.
