Pall Mall, it's all about sabotage

I think the only person who would maybe get the title is Fabiola.

Usually when I read books, they might remind me of a person, usually a friend or the boy, but that's only on occasion. I think this book, the second in the Bridgerton series, really reminds me of my family sometimes, especially the one scene of a game of Pall Mall, or Paille-Maille in French. The siblings set up the course with wickets in terrible areas and then, through out the course of the game, try to sabotage the game for the each other, like whacking the person's ball way off course, with the true object of the game being whack the other person's ball into the lake.

Not to say that my brothers and I always played games unfairly, but it reminds me of when we were little and playing games with my cousins. Sometimes, we were pretty good but I wouldn't have put it past us to unintentional and intentionally try to make someone else lose so we didn't. Reminds me of races we used to have at the top of my grandparents' drive back in Newton. Their driveway was wide (because it was meant for two families and it was shared with another neighbor) and steep, perfect for racing of course. And my grandparents had an assortment of tricycles, little cars, and such, in their garage and we would grab them, run them to the top of the drive, and then race down the drive again. Of course you weren't really allowed to pedal if you had a bike, but I'm pretty sure I would pedal occasionally when I had the bike. And I'm pretty sure we used to run into each other on purpose. Sibling (and cousin) rivalry at it's finest.
