It made me think....

Don and I went to see Glory Road on friday night. It was a really good movie in some ways, and not in orhers. I would recommend it over all tho. I think one of the things it did a good job of doing was showing what racism in the 50's and 60's felt like. You actually see some things that expose you to it at another level than other movies I have seen. Those things happened in our country. It just blows my mind to think about how that must have been. I can't imagine being afraid to walk down the street because of something I am not capable of changing. It made me think of how women feel in countries where they have to keep shrouded in black, where they can be publically stoned on the word of a man, right or wrong. It made me wonder how people of Jewish decent feel in countries where they are hated due to their heritage. It made me think of people who choose to endure racism just so they can share the gospel with those who hate them. It it made me really respect those who have done something about racism like Dr Martin Luther King. It made me examine my own life. Am I the kind of person who judges others based on things they can't change or help? Is my behavior influenced by how much I am like another person? or do I look at that person simply as a person of worth? It can apply to areas other than race. It can be the income level of a person, or how they dress. I want to be willing to love freely and not be put off by an exterior factor. Only God can reveal my heart to me.

Peace to you all
Christina
