Woo hoo! Just got back from Buenos Aires. Megan and Christa and I were proud of ourselves for making it all the way over there and back, including bus and hotel reservations, etc., without any help from any instructors or our host parents. Just relying on our own Spanish, baby! :D
I heart the Museo de Bellas Artes. That museum is so huge! It just goes on forever and ever! :) I was happy. That city is so big, though...I must have walked at LEAST 60 blocks yesterday, total. Never go to the planetarium there, though. The one in Rosario is better.
So, the main difference I see between Rosario and Buenos Aires is that in Rosario, there are loose random dogs everywhere. In Buenos Aires, it's loose random cats.
I took a subway for the first time! It was really fun...Megan really enjoyed herself, because we were crammed in like a bunch of sardines and she was squished up against this hot guy. We also went to the Plaza de Mayo, where we saw two political protests going on. We have pictures! ;)
The only lame thing about Buenos Aires is it's too dangerous to be out late at night. And one of our host parents told us that the taxi drivers are like the mafia and sometimes randomly kidnap people. So we couldn't take taxis. So what are we going to do now that we're back here? We're going out to a club, man!!! YEAH! I'm going to dance the night away...literally. Clubbing doesn't start until 1 AM and doesn't stop until breakfast. I miss my dance partner...well, I miss ballroom dancing in general. Still, maybe this will help my dance withdrawal.
