One little girl, as she was leaving, said "thank you for the day." And when one of the special education children did an amazing job on something, five kids clustered around congratulating him. I have the sweetest class in the world.
But this one little boy, all day long, hugged and hugged and hugged me. This is a good thing, a very sweet thing, but not something I love. See, he's short enough that if I'm looking across the room, he can slide in under my field of vision, and I just feel something wrapping around me. Also, his face is at boob height. I still don't know how to maneuver so his face doesn't end up in my boobs. I need to figure out this trick before next semester. The first-graders I'll be working with are at crotch height.
But, hey, as long as I'm getting hugged instead of bitten, I really shouldn't complain.
