So, my grandma spent two weeks in the hospital earlier this month, was out for a week, and is now back in for who knows how long. I don't get paid when she is in the hospital, so this has been a hardship, to say the least.
So this morning, at my office job (which is the same business that contracts me out as a caregiver) the mailman comes in and says,
Mailman: "So, your office is moving, huh?"
Me: "Uh, no."
Mailman: "Yes it is. They submitted the paperwork to forward the mail."
Me: "Ummm, no one's told me anything about this."
Mailman: "Ooh, that's not good."
And it certainly isn't. I called my boss and asked her what the heck was going on. Turns out the business is closing, and as of March 30th, I will be out of a job. I will have to find a new agency to continue doing the caregiver part of my job, and the office job is just gone.
There goes my plan to take on more hours in the office if anything happens to my grandma.
This sucks.
