The degree to which me exercising this morning was an unmitigated failure is really disheartening.

cut for whining and woe-is-meing )

note to self, my priorities are awesome ok, now really that's just whining

Oooorz I didn't start using the tread mill until this year and the first few times? I DIED IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES.

The point is, it's different for everyone. It might take a while to get used to and build up, but I know you can do it!

Right. I just need to remember that I have to take it really slowly. There's also the additional mental blocks of anxiety (OH GOD I'M GOING TO SUFFOCATE AHHHH) and frustration. I could be very athletic! My body is just hilariously self-destructive :|a

Iiiii know the feeling /o\. Sometimes when I go up and down stairs it's like HRRRRRRHHHGGG and I feel like a dying meatblob. And even when I tried to get over it too itttt is a much more uphill fight than you feel like it should be. But it is possible! When I was younger I could master it. . . now I've lost that and have been trying to reclaim it, but \o/ GANBARE

Don't woe! You have a better idea of what you can and can't handle now! I mean, between my allergies and TMJ, I have to do things like pull out a HUGE pair of sunglasses when I go into stores with fluorescent lighting, so I don't get a headache that's so bad I can't go into any sort of light for a while. And you can build up more stamina! YOU CAN DO IT!!

...Also, because it took some of my packages OVER A MONTH to get to people, and some people STILL haven't gotten them yet (orz Christmas lag + postal strike lag + snow lag), I wanted to wait to send yours so it'll get to you quicker. Which of the two addresses should I use?

Don't be embarrassed. You're just starting out, and on top of that you're starting this off in the middle of winter. (Even if you're indoors - I don't know about you, but even when I'm at the gym inside, my allergies just KNOW somehow.) At least you've got an idea of what you can do - and you KNOW the jogging felt right, your body's up to it, it's just the freaking asthma that's holding you back. Yeah, I know it seems kind of stupid to say "just" asthma, but it'll gradually get easier as long as you take it bit by bit.

tl;dr YOU CAN DO IT. No, really. ♥

Honestly, it's not how quickly I had to quit that embarrasses me. It's not being able to breathe in public 8T but I'm not quitting!
