A few weeks ago I compiled 30 'aspiration & inspiration' icons, i.e icons I always want to go look at when I'm in need of inspiration because they made such an impact on me when I first saw them and because they're the kinds of icons I'd like to make. This focuses on icons that are relevant to my personal style interests. Non-exhaustive, obvs, but to be fair there are probably 5000+ icons I'd like to praise! I'll try to compile other favourite icons that are as far from my style 'go-to' look as possible and that I admire for exactly that reason. ♥
bb, this is an absolutely inspired idea, and you are too sweet to have listed three of my icons in here among such gorgeous icons from some fantastic makers ♥ Thank you for sharing this!

Despite the fact I've been what could be called the worst commenter ever this year, I've tried to keep track (albeit less consistently than other years) of all the amazing icons that have been posted in 2014. So this is a little praise full of absolutely gorgeous icons that have essentially nailed technical elements that I adore, but cannot achieve for the life of me.
This is a little praise for long lost makers who have inspired by over the many, many years I've been iconing. Unfortunately for me, a lot of these people were active when I was a newbie in a little bubble of non-interaction, so have only been able to admire them for either a brief period, or from afar. If you get the chance, and if their journals are still active, I'd recommend stalking down their icons, because there are some true beauties hidden away in their journals.
