I chose the couple from this show that evoked, for me, all the fluffy, adorable lovey dovey feelings this song represented. The caps and text are from the scene where they perform "L-O-V-E," but everything in the icon, especially the textures and coloring, are indicative of the nonsensical and wonderful feeling of being in love in this song. To be honest, I like the variations more, but I figured I should go with the original icon the song inspired. | [Switchfoot - Twenty-Four]Mike (Suits)
Mike's life completely turned around in a matter of 24 hours as seen in the pilot episode. Since "Twenty-Four" is about change and redemption, this icon shows him in his new environment and life, working hard on whatever he's assigned as an above-and-beyond associate. I blended the two caps to show how busy he was, but instead it looks like he's making out with himself. Sigh. | [Anberlin - Inevitable]Ned/Chuck (Pushing Daisies)
This is one of my favorite songs, so I wanted to do it justice with one of my favorite shows. The song is about two people who've known each other since childhood and have grown from their innocent days into where they currently are, in a serious relationship and ready to spend forever together. The top half shows Ned and Chuck in the famously beautiful cemetery scene, as well as them as adults clutching their own hands and pretending it's the other's. This is to symbolize their youth, innocence, and how cute their situation can be, at least to us as viewers. The bottom shows their stark reality, though, of never being able to touch, merely to wish. One of the lines is "I want to break every clock, the hands of time could never move again," so I added the clock texture because time has frozen for Chuck, who's beyond life and can never age. | [Mae - This Is The Countdown]Emma (Once Upon A Time)
Wanting to break free and run away reminded me of the scene between Emma and August in "The Stranger," which is one of my favorite OUAT episodes to date. Carrying the responsibility of an entire kingdom's freedom on your shoulders is a heavy burden, so Emma instead rejected her duty and the idea of magic. It's a very human reaction and decision, and in that moment I related to her the most. | [The Last Goodnight - Poison Kiss]Regina (Once Upon A Time)
Regina. Poison. Apples. Obvious route but I think it worked. I wanted to pump the icon with shadows to make Regina appear even more sinister, though Lana Parilla does a great job of accomplishing that on her own already. | [This Providence - A Wolf In Sheep's Clothing]Derek/Erica (Teen Wolf)
The "wolf" aspect made me want to icon Tyler from The Vampire Diaries, but ultimately the lyrics of the song fit Derek's situation with creating his pack. He played to Erica's desire for acceptance and glory, was kind and flirtatious to her, and she didn't realize everything that came with being a werewolf until it was too late. | [Switchfoot - Gone]Caroline (The Vampire Diaries)
Life passing by, growing up, and fleeting moments of joy are how I see this show. All of the things that have happened in Mystic Falls have forced the main characters to grow up though they're only in high school. Here I used a cap from the "birthday party" that Caroline's friends throw for her. I wanted the furry purple tiara to stick out because it still represents that side of Caroline who was young, naive, and cheerful. But a line is "We are not infinite," so the muted colors are meant to contradict that message. Caroline is, in fact, immortal, and even though she's living she's not really moving on. She's stuck. | [Cartel - Honestly]Birkhoff/Sonya (Nikita)
I wasn't really inspired by the song's tune, but the lyrics were appropriate for Birkhoff and Sonya's situation. Birkhoff finally got a chance to show Sonya how he felt in the season two finale, and he took it! I love them together but I'm not really a fan of how this icon came out. | [The Cab - Temporary Bliss]Sawyer/Kate (Lost)
As much as I love this relationship, it was pretty toxic in its own way. There was a lot of push and pull, emotional manipulation, deceit and uncertainty. While this is present in almost all TV relationships, this was one of my first major ships, so the angst seemed to stay with me even more. Sawyer and Kate were both flawed, broken, and cautious. Because they found that kinship in one another it drew them closer together, but things usually didn't turn out well. The song is moody and this relationship was turbulent, so I wanted the dark colors and shadows to reflect that. Side note: Evangeline Lilly has the prettiest freaking profile. | [Snow Patrol - The Finish Line]Boone/Shannon (Lost)
This song reminds me of death, but not in the dark, morbid sense. More like having an out-of-body experience and seeing that light at the end of the tunnel. Making peace with your life. I chose a character's death that hit me hard, and that was Boone's, since his was the first major one in Lost. But he was able to die surrounded by people who cared about him, rather than alone somewhere where no one would find his body until weeks later. They were able to bury his body, and there was some comfort in that. It also provided a really sad and tender moment for Shannon as she privately mourned his death.

I'm not sure about the original piece, if anyone recognizes it, please let me know. Also, since the name is Path of Fate and Odin Sphere uses the Yggdrasil mythology, I thought it would be nice to turn Buffy's shadow into a tree as a symbol of how destiny can branch out from her choices. | "Faithfully Dangerous" by Over the Rhine | Maybe we're best close to the ground/Maybe angels drag us down -- No matter what they say, you'll always be/Faithfully dangerous, lost and lovely | "Talk in Tongues" by Natalie Imbruglia | Do you know where I've been/Walls are caving in -- Then you wake up/And tomorrow is today | "Metal Heart" by Cat Power | It's damned if you don't and it's damned if you do/Be true 'cause they'll lock you up in a sad sad zoo -- I once was lost but now I'm found/Was blind but now I see you/How selfish of you | "They" by Jem | Who made up all these rules/We follow them like fools -- Why do we live like this/Is it because it's true/That ignorance is bliss? | "Girl on Fire" by Alisha Keys | She's living in a world, and it's on fire/Feeling the catastrophe, but she knows she can fly away -- Watch her when she's lighting up the night/Nobody knows that she's a lonely girl | "Erase/Rewind" by The Cardigans | So where did you see me go/It's not the right way, you know -- Erase and Rewind/'Cause I've been changing my mind | "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros | Holy Moley, Me-oh-My, you're the apple of my eye/Girl, I've never loved one like you -- Let me come home/Home is wherever I'm with you | "Aya's Mission" by Frederik Wiedmann from the Green Lantern: The Animated Series soundtrack | This song feels very similar to me to a lot of the TSCC music, the way it ramps up but is still slightly melancholy. Plus, the song is originally played about an AI character going on a mission, so a perfect fit for a Cameron and John icon!
