Femslash Exchange 2019 Dear Creator letter
Well hello there! I am thrilled that you signed up to write for one of my tiny (or now obscure) fandoms.
Let's go ahead and get my DNW list out of the way: character death (only the ones listed), non-con, het for the requested characters, D/s, a/b/o, xeno, high school/ college/ coffee shop AUs (or uber fic), kid fic, pregnancy, parent death scenes.
These are just a few of my many likes: humor, angst, banter, dark themes, happy endings, tropes (fake relationship, trapped together), hurt/comfort, flawed characters, pining or conflicted feelings about making a relationship a romantic relationship, younger/less experienced women making the first move.
Everything is optional and if you have an existing idea, go ahead and run with it. :)
In alphabetical order (amount of text does not mean anything. I love these fandoms equally):
Alien: Resurrection
What’s next for these two? Are they on the run (Earth? Space?) or living the quiet life and learning how to be with each other?
I have always thought a cross-over with Firefly/Serenity would work well. Maybe they get back to space and need a quick getaway? Ripley interacting with River (awkward? or get along easily? or practice throwing knives for fun?) and Kaylee giving Call advice about women. Ripley totally unnerving Mal. Just an idea.
I’m totally down for character study, a day in the life, epic battle/adventure, and anything between. I love the canon verse, so the only total AU I’d like to see is a demon hunter AU. I just adore these characters and I’m sure I’ll love whichever direction you choose.
Bound
Corky and Violet are smoking hot together. Like, wow. I’d love to see what’s next for them. Maybe they lay low for a while, maybe they lay low forever. Who knows?
Who was Violet before or who will she be now? Does Corky go back to crime or play it safe? Are they guarded around new people or are they the life of the party?
I’d be interested to see where they go and what they choose to do (leave the country? hide in plain sight?). I’d love further sexy antics, the two of them figuring out how to spend their money and put the past behind them, or anything that strikes your fancy. So many possibilities for them.
Copycat
I love a good imperfect couple. Post-movie healing, late night chats, or further conflict with a resolution. Missing scenes during the movie also work for me: stolen glances, snark or banter, aftermath of various scenes. (Truncating this request as no one signed up for it and I’ve already received beautiful fic for it)
Van Helsing
Doc/Sara is a great character. She makes wrong decisions, rash decisions, but atones for mistakes. Her declaring that she was a virgin was like the show wrote its own fanfic. So now I imagine Sara is gray asexual with Jolene as her exception. Maybe you disagree and that’s cool too. Jolene is totally ride-or-die for Sara and I love it.
I’m definitely interested to see their “first time,” but fade to black is fine by me. Mortal peril is good (fighting vamps, maybe getting really good at it, the two of them against the world), a reprieve from all the terrible things that have happened is also good, an appearance by other characters is welcome (Axel? Julius? Scarlet? [I’m ignoring the season 3 finale because wtf no]), and/or who the heck were they before the world went dark?
Xena: Warrior Princess
With this show, my favorite episodes are the ones that hurt but have a happier follow-up ep. So if it suits you, feel free to make it hurt but with a happy/hopeful ending.
I like slice of life stuff, fighting baddies, meddling gods, Xena being vulnerable, Gabrielle post-season 4 (also very much here for an AU gladiator Gabrielle), banter, etc. Xena and Gabrielle together after the finale - however you see fit to make it happen. I love a reunion. I love complicated feelings (joy+anger+relief?).
Not a huge fan of always a top!Xena or virginal "Take me, Xena" Gabrielle. I love Gabrielle with agency (not just tagging along). Alt/Classic is my genre of choice, but if you want to throw Xena and Gabs into a “When Fates Collide" situation, I'm all for it. Or maybe one of them is a Robin Hood type character and they meet for the first time.
If you prefer a different direction, I totally forgot to request it, but Xena/Callisto would be awesome with eventual Xena/Gabrielle. I don’t know it would happen, but I’m here for angst and conflict and forgiveness (Gabrielle forgiving Xena, I imagine).
